This document provides classifications for vehicles, equipment, and plant used by the Border Roads Organization to monitor condition and plan maintenance. Equipment is classified based on operational status as Class A (fully operational), B (repairable by field workshop), C (not operational due to lack of spare parts), CEE (needing extensive repairs beyond field capacity), DTY (beyond estimated life but still usable), or DEE (beyond economical repair). Specialist vehicles are given dual classifications for the vehicle and attached equipment. The classifications allow fleet condition to be assessed at a glance for replacement and disposal planning.
