2. Why a Bake Sale Our unit in the classroom is how to incorporate math into the real world. A great way for this is for children to learn how to use money. A bake sale is a great way for students not only be able to use math, but great practice with being able to use money to do math. Students will be able to use there communication skills to talk to each other to help if they have a problem trying to give change. This bake sale will be guided by the following objectives: People Skills Addition/Subtraction skills Your child will make a baked good
3. Expected Roles of Students and Parents Each child is expected to first sign up for what baked good they are going to make. Then, my entire class will be responsible for advertising the bake sale. They can give their parents signs to put up at work or wherever they want. Advertising is the best way to be able to spread the word about the bake sale. A newsletter is also a great way for the students to be creative with advertising the event. I am letting the students come up with their own way to spread the word about the bake sale.
