OBJECTIVES OF CLASS LIBRARY
• To arouse curiosity.
• To develop a sense of belongingness.
• Students will develop a taste for reading.
• Exchanging views with one another after
reading these books.
• Children learn how to use dictionary.
• To develop imaginative sense and helps
them in diary writing.
• Development of vocabulary through reading
books.
HOW TO ORGANIZE THE CLASS ROOM
LIBRARY
1. Storing of books in glass cupboards.
2. Cloth holder with several packets mounted on a wall
for keeping different magazines.
3. Class Library Corner with a string to display the
books/ magazines.
4. There should be reference books like- dictionary,
children encyclopedia, activity books, language/
maths games, picture books, fairy tales etc.
5. These should be rational exchange of books among
the sections and classes as per CMP guidelines
issued by KVS.
6. Record of books read by students should be
maintained and book reviews collected.

MAINTENANCE OF A CLASS LIBRARY
1. The teacher taking the library period may
collect some magazines, interesting story
books, atlas, dictionary etc. from the school
library for a period of one month. After a month
the whole lot of books/ magazines may be
interchanged with another class/ section.
2. Some students may encouraged to bring
their own magazines and books if permitted by
their parents for the Class-Library. The teacher
should keep a record of these book.
3. Some teachers from the Primary Section may
be included in the Library-Committee so that
they can purchase books according to the
interest of the children.
4. The students may be motivated to collect
important information material according to their
interest to update their knowledge.
5. A Junior Library may be maintained for the
Primary Section by H.M.
