The class will be divided into factions to write questions about their assigned chapter from the text. Each group must write one question about a character, one question requiring evidence from the text, and one inference question. The Amnity group is assigned Chapter 12, Candor Chapter 13, Erudite Chapter 14, Abnegation Chapter 15, and Dauntless Chapter 16. For homework, students must read chapters 17-20, complete vocabulary, write a list of childhood favorites, and revise their first essay. A vocabulary quiz will be given in the next class.

Class activity: each faction will write three questions
for the chapter they are assigned to from the text.
• One question will be about a character from the
chapter. It should be an in-depth question that
asks something important about the character.
• Another question should require a close reading
of the chapter and ask the next group to find
evidence from the text.
• The third question should be an inference
question, something that can only be answered
by guessing and inference.
4. Homework
Essays will be due in one week.
Due next class, read chapters 17-20 (p. 209-
260). Do vocabulary in the workbook for those
chapters.
Write a list of favorite toys and games from your
childhood.
