The Verb “tobe”
The “to be” is a verb used to
describe something or someone
The most common use of the to
be verb is to talk about names,
ages, feeling, nationalities,
and professions, especially
when talking in the present
tense.
It’s also an irregular verb that
changes in different tenses.
Infinitive: To be

Present: Am/is/are
I am a doctor
Past: Was / Were
I was at the school yesterday

Past Participle:
She has been busy all day.
Continuous:

Prepositions
A word orgroup of words used before a noun, pronoun, or noun
phrase to show direction, time, place, location, spatial
relationships, or to introduce an object.
Examples: "in," "at," "on," "of," and "to."
Prepositions of TimeTo refer to one point in time, use the prepositions
"in," “on," and “at."
Use "in" with parts of the day (not specific times), months,
years, and seasons (longer periods).
He reads in the evening.
The weather is cold in December.
She was born in 1996.
We rake leaves in the fall.
Use "at" with the time of day. Also use "at" with noon,
night, and midnight. / at sunset /at lunchtime

We also use in…. to say how long it takes to do something
I learned to drive in four weeks (= it took me four weeks to learn)

Ontime = punctual, not late . If something happens
on time, it happens at the time which was planned.
Opposite of on time Late
Be on time. Don’t be late
The conference was very well organized. Everything began and finished on time
The 11:45 train left on time = it left at 11:45)
In time (for something / to do something) = soon
enough
Opposite of in time too late
I got home too late to see the football match
Just in time (=almost too late)
We got to the station just in time to catch the train.
Will you be home in time for dinner? (=soon enough for dinner)
I must hurry. I want to get home in time to see the football match on television (=soon
enough to see the football match)

You can not say “ in the end of something = In the end of January (not correct)
Opposite of at the end at the beginning

In the end = finally ( When we say what the final result of a situation was)

Ex: We had a lot of problems with our car. In the end we sold it and bought another one.
(=finally we sold it)
Ex: Jim couldn’t decide where to go for holidays. He didn’t go anywhere in the end.

Torefer to extended time, use the prepositions "since," "for," "by,"
"during," "from…to," "from…until," "with," and "within."
