In June 2016, a major US Oil Refiner requested 3rd party Class 1,
Division 2 certification for the Autorodder and control system.
Due to the unique nature of the Autorodder solution, there was
not a suitable ‘standard’ certification code.
Clearguard worked closely with Underwriters Laboratory (UL) in
the USA and NZ, which resulted in a new code & testing regime
being created.

Design & Control Logic
Safety is a key factor in the Autorodder design. Every
Autorodder is custom designed and manufactured to
suit each installation. Each Autorodder is Hydro tested to
ASME B16.5 standard and function, material and hydro
test certificates are available upon request.
The Autorodder control system can either be local only,
local control with remote feedback or remote control
with local position indication.

Component Selection
Tier 1 vendor components have been selected to ensure
reliable, safe operation. Each supplier is subject to a detailed
ISO 9001 risk review which includes;

‘sample’ units were built and tested by our team of qualified
engineers.
