Objective My goal is to seek a career with a company I can be passionate about, and proud working for, preferably
in the writing and editing field. I want to find a position where I can use my natural talents to benefit a
team. I would love to work in a collaborative role to help individuals and groups create written products
they can be proud of, be it a magazine, article, blog, website, or book. As long as I can find a career
where I am able to help and support others, I am open to a variety of roles and positions.
Experience Administrative Assistant, The Halcomb Group (Keller Williams Realty) November 2015-Present
As an administrative assistant, my job is to support the realtors. I am responsible for data entry for new
listings into the MIBOR system. I write descriptions for new listings and publish them to various
advertising websites (Craigslist, eBay ad pages) and social media websites (Twitter, Facebook). I create web
pages for various property listings and update other advertising mediums, and coordinate communication
with current and potential clients throughout the week. The goal is to get the team brand out as much as
possible, to increase exposure and visibility for the agent and for the properties that are for sale. I am
learning how to maximize the use of social media on the internet in order to do that, and how to use
search engine optimization when writing to help increase brand awareness.
Technical Administrative Assistant, EnviroForensics June-September 2016
As the technical administrative assistant, my main job was to assist the project managers with editing,
compiling, preparing, and delivering their reports to the Indiana Department of Environmental
Management (IDEM). I entered budgets into Ajera, tracked employees’ billable hours, and helped review
monthly invoicing, and signed off on expense reports. I also tracked and recorded bonus initiatives for all
employees. I was always available and willing to help with any other administrative job that came up, from
scanning documents for project managers to setting up for meetings and webinars to keeping common
areas clean.
Teacher, Hornet Park Elementary School August 2010-May2016
As a teacher, I was responsible for planning, preparing, and executing lessons for my students. I am
comfortable talking in front of groups of people, and while I am always prepared, I have also learned how
to be flexible when unexpected situations arise. I also collected and tracked data, and communicated
professionally with parents. I was responsible for incorporating technology into my teaching, including
iPads and other applications. I piloted several programs, including Google Chromebooks and yoga balls in
my classroom, which improved student engagement, and started a Gifted and Talented program.
