2. Bill of Rights on several levels:
family, school, nation and world.
In your ISM Bill of Right many rights were
identified:
Right to be respected by other people and not be
bullied.
Right to be treated equally by all the teachers.
Right to have good quality and affordable food in the
canteen.
Right to have a larger locker.
3. Now you must come up with a Bill of Rights for
your society.
What rights are your citizens morally and legally
entitled to?
What rights should be protected by the government?
What should the government provide?
What should your citizens have the right to say and
do?
*Is your Bill of Rights aligned with your government and
mission statement?
4. Citizenship
M.SS6.2 identify and describe means by which
citizens can monitor and influence actions of
their government
M.SS6.3 explain what citizenship means in terms
of membership in, and allegiance to, a country
Bill of Rights
Mission Statement
5. Our Bill of Rights comprehensively lists the rights
of the people and fully explains the ways in which
citizens of our society can participate in or
influence their government.
We have written an articulate Mission Statement
for our society that clearly defines both our
values and the responsibilities of citizens of our
society to uphold these values.
6. While thinking about the key
questions, and your mission
statement, design a Bill of Rights
for your society.
Remember to compare your Bill of
Rights to the rubric.
If done early catch up on other
parts of the project, or modify it.
