2. Time went by and nobody ever understood what awaited for them in the year
10,000. If FarGazer was right then something big was going to happen the next day and
nobody could prevent it. Trips into the past and future took place to try to reveal the
details of the inevitable event of the year 10,000. Adam had traveled many times yet the
reasons behind the disappearance of Terrance, remained unresolved. We will remember
that by 9995 many had moved to the moon and Mars, and some were hollowed in
asteroids beyond the orbit of Mars and Pluto. Earth is already lonely, with 31,884
habitants. If people from the past could visit the Earth today they would probably say
that the end of the world had already struck them.
Adam is one of the few left in Earth who intended to ride through the End of Time
on their native planet. Adam suddenly begins to think about the 7 FarGazers from
January 15, 9802 and his famous speech that revealed what the time machine would do.
Adam’s resources of having traveled in time would surely come in handy but he did not
know this yet. Life itself is like a network with people inputting data into their lives. As
time goes by, however, people will classify this data in time as an elapsed moment that
becomes part of the past and now a “forward movement” into the future. In this system
there is no backward movement once an event occurs today it cannot be changed
tomorrow but a memory of it has been saved about the past.
Adam suddenly realized that life is like an information system with all the
components and resources necessary to deliver information and information processing
functions to the organization and
consequently, just like a system, it must integrate hardware and software into it and in
3. this case the time machine happens to be that hardware. This concept makes it easy to
understand that time travel to the past or the future within that network is possible, and
ultimately involves both forward and backward movement in time.
When we compare this to information systems in a computer we can say that
when we retrieve information from the past all we need is the specific target information
that was stored and that now needs to be retrieved. The information of our lives is
processed by software in the time machine. It is possible to believe that people’s actions
is that data being inputted into the system’s hardware since data are facts or observations
about physical phenomena or business transactions which are then processed by the
software. The series of events that follow life within a specific period of time whether in
the future or the past, are the software of the system. FarGazer knew this on January 15,
9802. He had discovered it. It was not a mystery. What had happened was just a fatal
interruption of memory loss and backup failure to the system of time that followed
January 15, 9802. This interrupted gap was similar to a backup of the system of “time”
that was interrupted by a series of events that FarGazer could not remember just like a
backup failure in a network. FarGazer had managed to travel in time past the year 10,000
but his memory could only recount series of events of up until 9999. The 2nd
, 3rd
, 4th
, 5th
,
6th
and 7th
FarGazer knew this and kept trying to go back to February 14, 9802 to create
awareness to the 1st
FarGazer but failed. FarGazer was able to go back in time to
February 14, 9802 six times but failed in every attempt. After his 7th
appearance
FarGazer must have been successful in recovering some data from the time machine, but
perhaps he was able to recover the data from the beginning of existence up until
December 31, 9999. This was definitely the critical point of the system restoration
4. backup point . If FarGazer would not remember anything that happened after January 1,
10,000 then that was simply because there was a memory loss of those years. Each time
FarGazer from the future tried to go to the past onto the February 14, 9802 to warn the 1st
FarGazer to backup the data in the time machine, FarGazer only remembered the speech
part and failed to advise that a critical point of system restoration was needed
immediately. All of the future FarGazers were there to basically warn and change those
series of events that would ultimately lead to the End of the World but that never
happened. We must remember that there were 89 trips into the future in which none
contained messages from the future FarGazer to the past FarGazer warning him about
Terrance disappearance or any warning about the possible End of the World. We will
remember that at some point FarGazer became confused and began to think that there
was a reason that all future trips from that moment on never contained that warning to
himself. There must have been a good reason. These warnings never occurred because
perhaps future life on Earth could still be saved. The world would not end in the year
10,000 if FarGazer could go to that critical point and somehow backup all the events in
the time machine that occurred after January 1, 10,000 then perhaps life on Earth would
continue. Adam immediately jumped into the time machine and went back to February
14, 9802. FarGazer was the person who created the time machine, therefore, he was the
only person who could fix it.
January 14, 9802
Adam is now among the audience who is staring quietly at the First FarGazer. Seconds
later he turns around and realizes there are seven FarGazers answering questions about
5. the time machine. A few seconds later he notices there is an eighth FarGazer gazing over
at him. Adam currently does not understand why there is an eight FarGazer and not
seven as he originally remembered but he does not stop to ask about it instead he
approaches this eighth FarGazer who actually seems to be waiting for his approach.
Adam tells him that he is from the future and reveals the story about the “End of The
World“ in the year 10,000. FarGazer looks astonished but believes him. FarGazer
doesn’t say much but he does tell Adam that the most obvious simple things that should
be done often times are left undone. Immediately he begins to work on the time machine
and discovers that Adam is right. The system restoration may be all that the time
machine needed in order to save humanity. Rebirth of the year 10,000 may have just
occurred but now many future events may have also changed. It will be up to Adam, the
traveler, to discover what lies ahead.
January 1, 10,000, 6:00 A.M.
Adam feels the sun in his face. He wakes up to find himself in the middle of apple trees.
He is not in the moon or any other part of the galaxy. The planet earth is as green and
beautiful as can be but without buildings or technology. He can’t remember the past.
There is no time machine next to him but there is a beautiful lady by the name of Eve.
