• Gangrene

• Sickle Cell Anemia

Gangrene is a disease caused

Type 1 Diabetes ( T1D)
Type 1 of Diabetes is caused because the body no longer produces
insulin.
• This usually happens : adulthood, teenage years, before the 40s.
• 10% of all people who have diabetes are in Type 1.
• People with Type 1 need to
take injections for the rest of
their life.

What is insulin?
Insulin is a hormone produced by the
Pancreas to control blood sugar ( glucose)
Diabetes – Type 2 “ Adult Onset”

Type 2 Diabetes ( T2D)Type 2 is most
common among the two types
• Too much blood – sugar ( glucose).
• Causes obesity
Sickle Cell Anemia
Sickle Cell Anemia is a disease passed down through
the families in which red blood cells are formed in an
abnormal sickle or crescent shape. Red blood cells
carry oxygen to the body and are normally shaped
like a disc.
