1. To Whom It may concern:
I am not your typical Certified Nurse Practitioner new graduate. My variety of experiences set
me apart from other candidates. Being a top performer in Surgery, Emergency Department, and
Family Practice has allowed me to cultivate my skills and knowledge. I am consistently viewed
as a resource to everyone, including patients, family members, nurses, physicians, anesthesia
providers, surgeons, and mid-level providers.
I have served as a leading team member of the cardiothoracic OR team for the past 10 years. I
have a passion for the intricacies associated with open heart surgery. The demanding challenges
that often arise in these high-stress settings are constantly motivating me to advance my
knowledge and skills.
As a business owner myself, I understand the risk of hiring additional team members. I would
fully consider a contract to permanent for the right career opportunity to ensure a seamless
transition in adding a provider. Below is the feedback I received from my preceptors upon
completion of their rotation.
“She is a fantastic student. Would love to work with her. Great with patients and skills are
superb,” Judy Brenek, FNP-BC, Lima Memorial Hospital.
“Will make an excellent clinician”, Scott Stallkamp, MD, OB-Gyn Specialists of Lima, Inc.
“Ms. Hughes progressed from an already solid clinical foundation. She will make a very good
clinician as she completes her training. By the end of her rotation, there were instances where
she provided additional insights that I hadn’t even considered,” Matt Vasko, MD, Wilson Care,
Inc.
“Chris performed well above what is expected at her level of training. There were no areas of
concern,” Bill Leahy, MD, Leahy Family Care, Inc.
Respectfully submitted,
Christine Hughes, MSN, NP-C
