Spiritual friendship involves being a God seeker, reader of the Bible, one who is accountable to others, engages in prayer for others, and provides encouragement. Spiritual friends walk together with God, support one another, and are strengthened through their bond of mutual care, accountability and prayer.
This document contains several passages from 1 Corinthians chapters 12-13 discussing spiritual gifts. It explains that there are different kinds of gifts but the same Spirit, and gifts are given by God for the common good. The passages list various spiritual gifts including wisdom, knowledge, faith, healing, miracles, prophecy, discernment, tongues and interpretation. The document encourages readers not to doubt they have gifts to offer and to use their gifts to serve others rather than themselves. It suggests examining one's heart, talking to others, and stepping out in faith to discover where one is called to minister using their gifts.
Not only do we identify with Christ, but Christ identifies with us. We are the body of Christ as He has chosen to make Himself known through the church.

To God All the Glory!
The document discusses what it means to be holy according to 1 Peter 1:13-2:1. It means that believers should think differently by focusing their minds on God, live differently by conducting themselves with reverence, and love differently with sincere, deep, and pure love for others. It also means speaking differently by ridding themselves of wickedness, deceit, envy, and slander. Being holy involves transforming one's mind and way of living to align with God's holiness. The document encourages examining one's own thoughts, actions, love for others, and speech to ensure they honor God.
The Spiritual Awakening experienced by John Wesley on May 24, 1738 transformed his life and is at the core of the United Methodist theology. The experience, however, is not a one of a kind miracle known only to saints and cloistered monks, but is available to all who avail themselves of God's grace.
What do we remember about people's lives and what will people remember about our. This morning we study how to live a legacy that will be cherished for year to come.
God uses ordinary people in extraordinary ways. The document discusses how God chooses those who are weak, foolish, humble, compassionate, imperfect, forgiven, faithful and surrendered. God uses ordinary people so that no one can boast and all glory goes to God. The document encourages the reader to fully give their life to God so that he can use them for his purposes.

The document discusses several key points:
1. It summarizes a passage from Galatians about how Jesus identifies with our disappointments in life and how we can live by faith in him rather than trying to please God through rules.
2. It discusses Romans 6, saying baptism symbolizes dying and rising with Christ, allowing us to enter a "new country of grace."
3. It references Isaiah 61, which Jesus quotes about bringing good news and freedom, and says identifying with Jesus allows us to exchange our burdens for his blessings.
The document contains passages from Philippians 2 that discuss humility, selflessness, and having the attitude of Christ. It encourages believers to serve joyfully through humility, considering others' interests above their own, and by following Christ's example of humility and obedience despite his divine status. It emphasizes living and serving with the motivation of Christ's love rather than selfish ambition.
The passage discusses viewing others based on spiritual qualities rather than worldly views. It contrasts toxic personality types to avoid, like manipulative or narcissistic people, with the fruit of the Spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. It emphasizes that being in Christ brings transformation as the old way of seeing the world is gone and the new way has come, and that believers act as ambassadors reconciling others to God.
This document is a commitment card from a church asking members to make financial pledges to support the church's projects over the next 2 years. It includes a Bible verse about cheerful giving and charts showing how different weekly/monthly gift amounts would total over 2 years. Members are asked to consider financially supporting the church's plans to buy/renovate sites, improve facilities, and pay down debt in order to get more involved in the community. They are asked to prayerfully commit to a financial pledge and recurring donations.

The document discusses the relationship between love and obedience in Christianity. It provides several examples from the Gospel of John where Jesus connects love for him with keeping his commandments. It emphasizes that those who love Jesus will obey his word and that his commandments must be kept to remain in his love. Similarly, 1 John states that one cannot claim to know God if they do not keep his commandments. The document stresses that love of God requires obedience to his instructions.
The title of this message by Pastor Chuck Bernal is "You Are Worth It". In this message Pastor Chuck talks about the four ways to determine the value of something and how these show our intrinsic worth to God. This message was delivered on Sunday, May 22, 2016 at LifePointe Church in Crowley, TX.
The document discusses how Christians can bear fruit as discussed in John 15. It says that Christians can bear the fruit of the Spirit by developing love, joy, peace and other qualities through reading the Bible. They can also bear fruit for ministry by witnessing to others and expanding the church. Finally, Christians can bear fruit for themselves by remaining close to God through reading the Bible, which will lead to blessings and a happy, contented life. The overall message is that Christians are called to be fruitful by developing spiritually and bringing others to God.
This document provides information about a church service and sermon focused on Romans 12:1-8 and the theme of putting others first. The service will take place over Mother's Day weekend and encourage attendees to present their bodies as living sacrifices for others and allow God to transform their minds for the benefit of others. The sermon will explore how the church can use their spiritual gifts to serve others as one family in Christ.
This document discusses the concept of grace from a Christian perspective. It outlines some common misconceptions about grace, such as that it means God no longer cares about obedience or good works. The document explains that the Greek word for grace referred to showing kindness with an implication of graciousness that created a bond between the giver and receiver. True grace, or "His grace", recognizes this reciprocal relationship where the receiver is compelled to live for the giver through good works prepared by God.
The document contains passages from 1 John chapters 1 and 2. It discusses several key themes: John and his fellow apostles witnessed and testify about the life and teachings of Jesus; walking in darkness or light impacts fellowship with God and others; claiming to be without sin is self-deception; and confessing sins results in forgiveness and purification by God. The overall message is that God offers assurance of forgiveness through Jesus' atoning sacrifice for sins, in order to facilitate fellowship with both God and other believers.
God’s goal is not merely that you escape corruption, but that you share in His nature. God has provided everything we need, but that does not erase our need for diligence.
This document discusses the concept of humility based on several Bible passages. It makes three key points:
1) True humility involves having a low view of oneself and recognizing that all people have sinned and fallen short of God's glory. We are justified by faith in Christ, not by our own works.
2) Those who exalt themselves will be humbled by God, while those who humble themselves will be exalted. Christians should submit to God and to one another in humility.
3) Knowledge and a sense of having "arrived" spiritually can lead to pride; true wisdom comes from loving God rather than focusing on one's own understanding. Humility and obedience to God are needed for
This document contains several passages from 2 Corinthians 4 that discuss Paul's ministry and struggles. It emphasizes that though Paul faces hardships, he does not lose heart because he has received the treasure of God's mercy and gospel in his ministry. The gospel's message is veiled to unbelievers but reveals God's glory. Paul's goal is to preach Christ rather than himself. Though physically weak, Paul's inner being is being renewed as he fixes his eyes on the eternal, unseen things of God.
The document discusses what it means to be holy according to 1 Peter 1:13-2:1. It means that believers should think differently by focusing their minds on God, live differently by conducting themselves with reverence, and love differently with sincere, deep, and pure love for others. This document provides an overview and summary of Psalm 32. It begins with background on King David's sins with Bathsheba and Uriah, which led to his writing of Psalms 32 and 51 in confession. The summary then examines four Hebrew words for sin, three words for forgiveness, and how guilt affects us. It discusses how we must confess sins to God and forgive others as God forgives us. Total forgiveness is defined as having no negative feelings towards an offender and praying for God to bless them. The document closes with an invitation to next week's sermon and details on God's plan of salvation through Jesus Christ.
The document summarizes passages from 2 Corinthians about generosity among churches in Macedonia. It discusses how the Macedonian churches generously gave beyond their means out of their deep joy and poverty. Paul urges the Corinthians to excel in generosity as the Macedonians did. True generosity is a reflection of God's grace and comes from a willing heart, not dictated by amount but by sacrifice according to one's means.
This document provides a summary of a sermon given at First Baptist Church in Jackson, Mississippi on Psalm 32:1-11. The summary discusses key points about the sermon including that it covered four perspectives on sin, three words for forgiveness, how guilt affects us, our obligation to forgive others, and what total forgiveness looks like according to R.T. Kendall. The sermon encouraged confession of sins and discussed how God forgives our transgressions, covers our sins, and does not count our iniquities against us. It also summarized the plan of salvation through believing in Jesus Christ.
What Place Does Penance Play in a Christians Life? This study helps to answer this question. Is penance the same as repentance? Does penance have a place within our Christian experience?
1) Stewardship refers to the careful and responsible management of something that has been entrusted to one's care, such as property or an organization.
2) The document discusses different areas of stewardship including the church, family, our bodies, our neighbors, and property in general.
3) Effective stewardship involves using the talents and resources God has given us to serve and care for others.
The document discusses how divisions within the church can cause it to lose power and effectiveness, similar to how obstacles cause a snowball to break apart as it rolls downhill. It calls for Christians to commit fully to God, surrender past issues, and allow themselves to be molded together as one church under God. When the church is united and lifts each other up through prayer, it can grow in size and influence others through spreading God's message.
This document discusses the importance of unity in the church. It provides scriptural support for unity from passages like Ephesians 4:11-13 and Hebrews 10:23-25. It defines unity as oneness and agreement. It encourages focusing on commonalities over differences, avoiding criticism and gossip, resolving conflicts biblically, supporting leaders, and encouraging one another. The document warns that lack of unity through things like cliques, debts, or not working can hinder the church. Overall, it promotes practicing love and focusing on Christ to preserve unity.
The document discusses the topic of heresies and how God allows them to come into the church. It says heresies are used by God to sift the chaff from the wheat by leading people to deeper Bible study. While heresies are dangerous, God can use them for good by prompting believers to thoroughly examine what they believe in light of Scripture alone. The document warns that superficial knowledge is not enough and emphasizes the need for believers to study the Bible, Spirit of Prophecy, and hold to fundamental principles based on authority.
Martin Luther argues that Christians can have assurance of their salvation based on three grounds: 1) The promises of Scripture that those who trust in Christ alone are saved. 2) The sanctifying work of the Spirit seen in the lives of believers. 3) The witness of the Spirit causing believers to cry "Abba, Father." Luther says this cry, though small, expresses the believer's knowledge that they are God's child through Christ. He urges believers to train their conscience to believe that God approves of them, despite doubts, based on Christ's righteousness.
The document discusses the need for unity in the church and surrendering to God. It says when obstacles divide the church, it can reach a point of ineffectiveness at "rock bottom". To move forward, the debris of past divisions must be cleared away and people must commit themselves to being molded together by God as one church. It encourages surrendering all things to God and living transformed lives through renewing our minds with Scripture.
The document discusses the need for unity in the church and surrendering to God. It says when obstacles divide the church, it can reach a point of ineffectiveness at "rock bottom". To move forward, the debris must be cleared and people must commit to being molded together by God as one church. Surrendering past issues and conforming to God's will allows His living water to flow through the church to help those in need.
The document discusses the purpose and benefits of affliction according to the Bible. It explains that while affliction is painful, it can serve purposes like cleansing from sin, strengthening faith, and causing one to rely more on God. Affliction may come as a result of sin, to test faith like in the story of Job, or to prune and shape one's character like pruning a branch to bear more fruit. Overall, affliction is a tool God uses to move people closer to where they need to be spiritually.
Sometimes our religious beliefs are crooked and hold us back emotionally. Here are some freeing ideas based in sound theology reminding us of the truth and importance of self and other acceptance to realizing peace in our lives and world.
Practical Religion Chapter 12 The WorldScott Thomas
This chapter discusses separation from the world. It begins by defining "the world" as those who prioritize earthly things over heavenly things. It then discusses how the world is dangerous to the soul by citing several Bible passages. It notes that true separation is not about withdrawing from society, but rather refusing to be guided by worldly standards and priorities. The chapter outlines several "secrets of victory" over the world, including having a heart renewed by the Holy Spirit, maintaining a lively faith in unseen spiritual realities, and boldly confessing Christ. It concludes by exhorting readers to overcome the world rather than be overcome by it.
This commentary provides analysis of 2 Corinthians 7:1 across 3 passages from different scholars. The summaries are:
1) The passage exhorts believers to purify themselves from sin inside and out based on God's promises. They should strive for continued holiness through faith in God's help and out of reverence for him.
2) Believers should ask God for grace to purify themselves and avoid sinful acts and thoughts which defile. While God alone can purify the heart, believers must also resist sin through avoiding temptation.
3) The promises of God's presence and being our Father require believers to be pure in conduct and conversation. We must continually pursue righteousness and depend on God's

To truly calculate the cost, you must consider both the cost of action and the cost of inaction not only for the near term but in the long term. Jesus calls us to a decision. Choose wisely.
Jesus warns his disciples about hypocrisy among religious leaders and tells them not to fear those who can kill the body. He instructs them not to fear people as much as God, who has authority over both body and soul. Jesus promises to acknowledge before God those who acknowledge him before men, but those who deny him will be denied. The Holy Spirit will give disciples words to say when they are brought before leaders to defend their faith.
Jesus responds to those accusing him of casting out demons by Beelzebul by pointing out the logical flaws in their argument. He lays out that a kingdom divided against itself cannot stand, and that if Satan is divided and casting people out of himself, his kingdom would collapse. Jesus further explains that if his exorcisms are by the power of God, then the kingdom of God has come upon them. He tells the crowds that whoever is not with him is against him. Jesus rebukes the generation seeking signs, saying the only sign given will be the sign of Jonah. He emphasizes the importance of hearing and keeping God's word for true blessing.
Jesus teaches his disciples about prayer in response to their request. He gives them a model prayer focusing on hallowing God's name, desiring his kingdom to come, and acknowledging dependence on him for daily provision and forgiveness. Jesus encourages prayer by reminding them of God's generosity like a father who provides for his children, and says God will give the Holy Spirit to those who ask. He emphasizes making prayer a priority and having the right priorities in prayer, such as honoring God and trusting in his provision.
Martha welcomed Jesus into her home but became distracted serving Him, while her sister Mary sat at His feet listening to His teaching. Martha complained to Jesus that Mary wasn't helping her, but Jesus said Mary chose the better part by spending time with Him rather than being distracted by many tasks. The passage emphasizes the importance of sitting at Jesus' feet to listen to Him over being busy doing things for Him without truly focusing on Him.

This book is one of the best of the translated ones, for it has a warning character for all those who find themselves in the experience of material life. Irmão X provides a shrewd way of describing the subtleties and weaknesses that can jeopardize our intentions, making us more attentive and vigilant by providing us with his wise pages, reminding us between the lines of the Master's words: "Pray and watch."

Muladhara is the root centre of physical experience, located at the base of the spine, the sacral plexus. The square represents the earth itself, the four dimensions and the four directions. Four allows for completion, and earth embodies the elements and conditions for human completion on all levels.
Muladhara Chakra is the meeting place of the three main nadis: Ida, Pingala and Sushumna. The downward-pointing triangle indicates the downward movement of energy and the three main nadis.
The seed mantra is Lam, the yellow square represents the earth element. The Muladhara chakra governs the vital breath Apana. An inverted triangle in the centre of the square encloses the unmanifest Kundalini, represented as a snake wrapped in three and a half coils around the svayambhu (self born) linga. Because her mouth faces downward, the flow of energy is downward.
The opening at the entrance of the sushumna is called brahma-dvara, the door of Brahma, which is closed by the coils of the sleeping Kundalini. As soon as one begins working with Muladhara chakra, this dormant energy awakens, raises its head and flows freely into the channel of Sushumna, the central nerve canal that runs along the spine. These two aspects of the kundalini: sleeping and waking, are identified as her “poison” and her “nectar.” The kundalini is poison when she remains asleep in the lower abdomen; she is nectar when she rises up through Sushumna, the medial channel, to reunite with Siva, the Absolute, in the yogin’s cranial vault.
In the pericarp is found the presiding deity Brahma, the lord of creation. His skin is the color of wheat, he wears a yellow dhoti and a green scarf. Brahma is four-faced, four-armed, holding in his upper left hand a lotus flower, the symbol of purity.
Lucid Dreaming: Understanding the Risks and Benefits
The ability to control one's dreams or for the dreamer to be aware that he or she is dreaming. This process, called lucid dreaming, has some potential risks as well as many fascinating benefits. However, many people are hesitant to try it initially for fear of the potential dangers. This article aims to clarify these concerns by exploring both the risks and benefits of lucid dreaming.
The Benefits of Lucid Dreaming
Lucid dreaming allows a person to take control of their dream world, helping them overcome their fears and eliminate nightmares. This technique is particularly useful for mental health. By taking control of their dreams, individuals can face challenging scenarios in a controlled environment, which can help reduce anxiety and increase self-confidence.
Addressing Common Concerns
Physical Harm in Dreams Lucid dreaming is fundamentally safe. In a lucid dream, everything is a creation of your mind. Therefore, nothing in the dream can physically harm you. Despite the vividness and realness of the dream experience, it remains entirely within your mental landscape, posing no physical danger.
Mental Health Risks Concerns about developing PTSD or other mental illnesses from lucid dreaming are unfounded. As soon as you wake up, it's clear that the events experienced in the dream were not real. On the contrary, lucid dreaming is often seen as a therapeutic tool for conditions like PTSD, as it allows individuals to reframe and manage their thoughts.
Potential Risks of Lucid Dreaming
While generally safe, lucid dreaming does come with a few risks as well:
Mixing Dream Memories with Reality Long-term lucid dreamers might occasionally confuse dream memories with real ones, creating false memories. This issue is rare and preventable by maintaining a dream journal and avoiding lucid dreaming about real-life people or places too frequently.
Escapism Using lucid dreaming to escape reality can be problematic if it interferes with your daily life. While it is sometimes beneficial to escape and relieve the stress of reality, relying on lucid dreaming for happiness can hinder personal growth and productivity.
Feeling Tired After Lucid Dreaming Some people report feeling tired after lucid dreaming. This tiredness is not due to the dreams themselves but often results from not getting enough sleep or using techniques that disrupt sleep patterns. Taking breaks and ensuring adequate sleep can prevent this.
Mental Exhaustion Lucid dreaming can be mentally taxing if practiced excessively without breaks. It’s important to balance lucid dreaming with regular sleep to avoid mental fatigue.
Lucid dreaming is safe and beneficial if done with caution. It has many benefits, such as overcoming fear and improving mental health, and minimal risks. There are many resources and tutorials available for those interested in trying it.
PHASE-IV
The very deep experience of silence helps to expand from the 3 - dimensional awareness of the body to all pervasive awareness. The bed of silence becomes deeper and more expansive - an ocean of silence with waves on it merge into complete silence called Ajapa state of the mind. This silence is the source of Creativity, Power, Knowledge and Bliss.
PHASE V
From this deep ocean of silence in the heart region, let one OM emerge as an audible sound which diffuses into the entire body and the space all around. Enjoy the beautiful vibrations.
Blink the eyes slowly, gently open the eyes and come out of meditation.

The Book of Revelation, filled with symbolic and apocalyptic imagery, presents one of its most striking visions in Revelation 9:3-12—the locust army. Understanding the significance of this locust army provides insight into the broader themes of divine judgment, protection, and the ultimate triumph of God’s will as depicted in Revelation.

Astronism, Cosmism and Cosmodeism: the space religions espousing the doctrine...Cometan
This lecture created by Brandon Taylorian (aka Cometan) specially for the CESNUR Conference held Bordeaux in June 2024 provides a brief introduction to the legacy of religious and philosophical thought that Astronism emerges from, namely the discourse on transcension started assuredly by the Cosmists in Russia in the mid-to-late nineteenth century and then carried on and developed by Mordecai Nessyahu in Cosmodeism in the twentieth century. Cometan also then provides some detail on his story in founding Astronism in the early twenty-first century from 2013 along with details on the central Astronist doctrine of transcension. Finally, the lecture concludes with some contributions made by space religions and space philosophy and their influences on various cultural facets in art, literature and film.

Lição 12: João 15 a 17 – O Espírito Santo e a Oração Sacerdotal | 2° Trimestr...OmarBarrezueta1
1. 2 Corinthians 7:1-2
Since we have these promises, dear friends,
let us purify ourselves from everything that
contaminates body and spirit, perfecting
holiness out of reverence for God. Make
room for us in your hearts. We have
wronged no one, we have corrupted no
one, we have exploited no one.

2. 2 Corinthians 7:3-4
I do not say this to condemn you; I have
said before that you have such a place in
our hearts that we would live or die with
you. I have great confidence in you; I take
great pride in you. I am greatly

yet now I am happy, not because you were

you to repentance. For you became

brings repentance that leads to salvation
and leaves no regret, but worldly sorrow
brings death.

See what this godly sorrow has produced in

innocent in this matter.
