Chicago's Chinatown contains several attractions including Ping Tom Park, Chinatown Square, the Nine Dragon Wall, and the Chinese American Museum. The area can be accessed via the Red Line subway at the Chinatown/Cermak stop. Chinatown has a population of around 50,000 people, over 90% of whom are Chinese. The first Chinese immigrants arrived in the 1870s to work in laundries and restaurants, and more came in the 1950s-60s fleeing communism in China. Chinatown has moved locations over time due to rising rents and overcrowding.
