3. - % 19 dependence on Oil
- 2009, China is regarded as the world’s second energy, oil
consumer. EIA
- Growing oil imports, 2.9 bbl/day in 2010. Second largest importer.
- China’s oil demand rose by %0.7 in December 2012, or av. 9.69
million barrels per day (b/d) ( Platt report ).
- China’s refineries reached the ever highest processing and
refining capacities.
- In July 2009, oil product imports were also at 4.04 million mt. (
Platt )
- China has 20.4 billion barrels of proven oil reserves as of January
2011. ( OGJ, EIA)

4. - The economic growth and the increasing demand led the country to
need 8.4 million barrels a day to operate. (CBN)
- China’s oil consumption rate has grown from 4.8 million barrels per day
(MBPD) to 9.6 MBPD amounting to half of the total US consumption.
In 2010 the growth in oil demand in China is up 17%. (CGES)

5. IMPORTS
- Main suppliers are Middle East and Africa ( Mainly Saudi Arabia and
Angola.).
- %4.0 from Asia Pacific Region.
- %20 other countries.

6.  China, specifically Chinese state owned Oil companies,
are one of the largest beneficiary of Iraq oil resources (
