Sandy Chilewich introduced her first woven textiles into the tabletop industry over a decade ago. Since that time, her growing
signature collection has altered how we dress our tables at home and in the restaurants and hotels we visit around the world.
Chilewich prides itself on cutting-edge design. We specialize in the manufacture of woven vinyl products for both residential
and commercial use. We use vinyl because it is extremely durable, easy to maintain and provides us with endless design
possibilities. Unlike many other tabletop and flooring products, Chilewich textiles can be easily washed with just water and
bio-degradable detergents, helping the user reduce energy and laundering costs while maintaining a sophisticated and
modern aesthetic.
Our woven vinyl products, including tablemats, also contain Microban®
anti-microbial protection. This is particularly
beneficial for the home and hospitality markets. Microban®
works continuously for the lifetime of the product to inhibit the
growth of stain and odor-causing bacteria, mold and mildew. Chilewich fabrics are covered by the GreenGuard program
certified by the GREENGUARD Environmental Institute, which protects human health and quality of life through the reduction
of chemical exposure and improved indoor air quality.
MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS
Be sure to store Chilewich® Placemats flat. Do not fold or allow them to crease. Chilewich® Placemats are easily cleaned
with soap and water. A damp cloth or sponge is all that is necessary. We do not recommend running placemats through
a dishwasher.
Permanent stains may result when certain food or liquids are left on the tablemat for long periods before cleaning. This is
more likely to occur with our lighter color textiles.
Should a stubborn stain occur, woven vinyl is very durable and can withstand aggressive scrubbing with a bleach-based
cleanser. This will remove most stains without altering the fabric. (Please Note, though durable, due to portions of Tuxedo
Stripe’s open weave, please be more careful when caring for this style.)
Do not iron. This is a vinyl product. A high temperature sanitizer can be used up to once a week to sanitize the placemats.
