1. *Cheerleading* Cheerleading is one of my favorite interest/hobby. I have been cheering since I was 4 years old. There are two different types of cheerleading that you can do. One is School cheer and the other is All-star cheer. Fortunately I was about to both my whole life.
2. School Cheerleading I started school cheerleading when I was a freshman in high school. I made the varsity cheer team as a freshman and cheered till I graduated. School cheerleading is different then All-Stars for many reason. One reason is when you do school cheer you are actually cheering at games and for a team. Another reason is that you have to entertain the fans with cheers and chants. Finally, you also get to use pompoms and get breaks in between sideline cheers.
3. All-star Cheerleading All-star cheerleading was a huge part of my life before I came to college. I did all-stars from when I was 6 till I was 18. I was on three different teams in one organization. My favorite team that I was on was F5. This team was very competitive and energetic. All-star cheerleading is very competitive and time consuming. Being an all-star cheerleader you don’t get to cheer for a team or go to games. Instead, you practice to compete your two minute and thirty second routine at competitions. In the two minutes and thirty second of competing, you throw tumbling, stunts, jumps, and choreography to music without a break. It is very fast pace and a huge work out.
4. Stunts, Tumbling, and Jumps In cheerleading the stunts, tumbling, and jumps play a big role. In a stunt you have either four or five people doing a position. There is the flyer who goes up in the air. There is two bases which hold the flyers foot or feet in the air. Then there is the back spot who helps the flyer get into the air and helps hold her up by lifting at the flyers ankles. Finally, in a stunt there can be a front spot for more stability and help to keep the flyer up. As for tumbling, it only consist of one person, which is yourself. Tumbling is just another word for flipping. You can flip either forwards or backwards. Finally, jumps are when you jump in the air and extend your legs and arms in a certain position.
5. Conclusion In conclusion, cheerleading is one of my favorite hobbies/ interest for many reasons. One reason is because there is so many aspects to being cheerleader. Another reason is that you can choose which cheerleading style you would want to do or you can do both. Finally, you get to have the time of life while getting the best work out and winning competitions.
