Senior Buyer
Responsible for the Coordination of all purchasing and Logistics for allotted
Drilling rigs within the North Sea Division. Also responsible for Onshore
facilities purchasing within the North sea Division
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Work with the allotted rig and onshore facilities on all their purchasing
requirements, raising Purchase orders and tracking orders and handling all
queries and problems that arise
• Liaise with Third Party Logistics Company relating to all Logistics to the rig
and from the rig
• Track and monitor all outstanding Purchase orders.
• Handle All repairs and returned item from rig, by finding the appropriate
Repair vendors and tracking goods through Inspection and any required
repairs.
• Resolve any queries and problems relating to Purchasing, Repairs, Logistics
and accounts for the Rig
• Monitor receipts / storage of Rig materials in Transocean storage facilities.
• Cover for sickness and leave of other Buyers and Purchasing manager as
and when required
• Liaise with Rig manager Asset and Performance on all Purchasing and
logistics matters concerning the rig
• Assist in the replication of Transocean’s core values with 3rd
parties.
• Liaise with all Service vendors who visit the rig, ensuring purchase orders and
check in times are sorted
• Organize all Tubular and Riser Movements from the Rig to Repair and
Storage facilities as required
• Assist in implementation of fixed price agreements and any rig related vendor
issues
• Required to assist in Purchase contract negotiations and Rig Marketing
Purchasing assistance
• Required to go on the 24Hr On call and Emergency response roster every 6
weeks
2005-2010
• TRANSOCEAN
Logistics Coordinator ( Europe & Africa ) Business Unit
Responsible for the Coordination of Logistics for Transocean, combining
worldwide 3rd
party outsourced activities to all worldwide destinations.
Main responsibilities include direct coordinated logistics for 57 Drilling Units within
the UK/Europe & West Africa domains, secondary support and coordination for the
Americas (43 Drilling Units ranging from Gulf of Mexico to Brazil operations) and
for Middle & Far east ( 53 Drilling Units ranging from Australia to Libya operations)
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Review and monitor the receipt of goods for all Rigs in Transocean operating
locations. Review daily the shipments that are due to be sent for all Rigs in
Transocean operating locations.
• Work with the Transocean Customs Team on imports and exports of Customs
controlled goods
• Liaise with Third Party Logistics Company relating to all Logistics.
• Assist with safety observations/risk assessments as required.
• Work with 3rd
Party Logistics to reduce on-hand reports.
• Establish shipping schedules that meet field demands.
• Resolve O S & D / Quarantine & RTV bays daily.
• Monitor receipts / storage of Transocean materials in Warehouse.
• Assist in any other logistics duties within the Echt facility.
• Review and code 3rd
party invoicing using Accounts matrix of coding
• Assist in the replication of Transocean’s core values with 3rd
parties.
2001 - 2005
• ARR CRAIBS TRANSPORT
Warehouse Supervisor
Responsible for Warehouse stock located at Aberdeen’s Davidson Paper Mills.
Main responsibilities were to maintain clients stock, receipt and dispatch of this stock
cyclical stock checks and reporting figures to bother my employer and our clients.
1991 - 2001
• DONSIDE PAPER MILL
Warehouse Team Leader
Responsible for the receipt/dispatch of Paper products.
Originally starting as a Machine Operator for a 3 year period, I was promoted to
Warehouse Team Leader, with a team of 8 staff, we controlled the storage, receipt &
dispatch of Paper products to multiple clients, was responsible for the creation of a
24hr shift rota system.
1987 - 1991

Wood Machinist
Served my apprenticeship as a wood Machinist and Sawyer, trained in a wide range of
Wood Machinery and hardware within a very large construction industry. I completed
a 4 year course at the Aberdeen Technical College achieving a Scottish National
Certificate in Wood Machining.
