CHARACTER REFERENCE FOR MS CARLY INCE
I have worked closely with Carly Ince for several years at the Financial Times, most recently as our
Editorial Assistant at the House of Commons.
I can say without hesitation that Carly is one of the most diligent, capable and dependable colleagues
I have worked with during my time at the FT.
She has brought order to the slightly chaotic lives of the FT's Westminster team, revamping our office,
handling diaries, helping resolve IT issues and organising travel schedules. She achieves all of these
tasks with the minimal fuss: when any problem is passed over to Carly, you know it is going to be
fixed.
A good example was the annual task of arranging meetings between the FT Editor, journalists and
senior political figures at this year's party conferences: thanks to Carly's tireless work, we had
meetings with virtually every member of the cabinet and everything went perfectly.
Furthermore she is a great colleague with a great deal of empathy and very good interpersonal skills.
I have always been impressed at the way she gauges when things are getting slightly stressful -
especially near deadlines - and instinctively understands the best time to try to resolve issues.
We will all miss Carly when she leaves the FT.
Yours Sincerely
George Parker
