I am seeking election at large for Council having spent most all of my 25 year radio career here,
meeting the gal that would become my wife here, and bringing up an incredible family.
Lee Iacocca - famous car man - once said; "Don’t just stand there; make something happen!"
I don't want to just stand there anymore; I want to make something happen - in this town I
adore!
I believe being an effective communicator is the most important skill for an elected
representative. Effective communication is central to a democratic society.
My career as a radio broadcaster means I know how to ensure communication is clear, easy to
understand and successful.
It’s most important to me that Tauranga City Council properly listen and talk to the people in
this greatest of cities.
I arrived in Tauranga in October 1995 – a stroke of luck had me meet Vicki a few months later! -
and in my time here have happily given much time and energy to community events, community
groups and Tauranga/Bay of Plenty businesses. Still do.
I am determined to share my expertise and abilities to be a powerful voice for the city, and help
make Tauranga and the wider Bay of Plenty as great as it can be for my family and yours.
