COSTUME IDEAS
Here are a few mother figures from recent Tv series. I thought we
could use a similar costume to these characters for Ivy’s mother, who
resembles a mother figure.
The first character study is Melissa McCall, who is from the America tv
show Teen Wolf. She plays the mother of the main character Scott
McCall. I have chosen her for costume ideas as she is a young mother
who is up to date ad appears normal this is something I want for out
character. We want the mother to appear normal in order for her true
identity to be shocking. As you can see she is wearing a pair of skinny,
dark jeans and a plain red top.
The next character study is Alison Hughes from the British drama The
A word. She plays the mother of a chid who is autistic. She is wearing
a red cardigan plain top and a pair of skinny jeans. I have chosen her
because once again she is a young modern mother.
Lastly is Olivia baker from the Netflix series 13 Reasons Why. Mrs
Baker is the mother of a child who commits suicide. I think Olivia
baker is wearing a costume most similar to the one that we are going
to use. She is wearing a plain wool jumper and a pair of blue jeans.

2. IVY’S COSTUME IDEAS
Ivy’s character needs to be presented as a bit odd but normal
enough so that she doesn’t stand out. As Ivy has never been
outside she doesn't’t buy her clothes so has little choice in what
she wears.
The characters I have selected are represented as outcasts.
Hannah Baker is from 13 Reasons Why. This characters outfit is a
grey top, blue denim jacket and a patterned scarf. Her outfit
appears normal but would not be considered to be stylish, this
represents this character as being less popular then other
characters who may care more about their appearance. The main
thing that makes this costume slightly unusual is the scarf. I think
that our characters costume should be quite normal, but she has
one item that make the outfit more unusual. The reasoning for
this is that ivy has no experience of the outside world, so would
not know what is considered to be fashionable.
Nadine, from the film Edge of Seventeen is also presented as
being an outcast and once again this is shown through her
costume.
