Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.

18. PLANNING AHEAD – Cultural Interview Presentation
• For this assignment, you will interview someone to learn more about their culture.
• You must interview someone from a different culture than yourself. Think about ALL aspects
of culture that we have discussed in class thus far. Think about what you wrote about your
own culture for questions and ideas, such as family, faith, prejudice, struggles, where they
grew up etc... Things are the things you will write about. Include things that may have
surprised you or interesting information you learned about them. You must have this person
approved by me prior to the project.
• I have attached a list of questions to this assignment as a starting point for you. It also
includes some important information about how to conduct an interview as well as what I am
looking for in your presentation to the class.
• You will include a photo of the person interviewed.
• You will prepare a slide show presentation. See blackboard for details of required slides.
• It is important to view the rubric that is attached to this assignment.
• This assignment will be used in your student portfolio on LiveText as the artifact for this class.
