Turkey is located in both Europe and Asia, separated by the Turkish Straits. It has two peninsulas, with the larger Asia Minor peninsula comprising most of the country. Turkey has a central plateau and mountain ranges, and coastal regions with mild, rainy winters. While many Turks farm, Turkey's economy focuses on oil refining and textiles. Tourism is also growing. Most of Turkey's 72 million population lives in northern, coastal, or valley areas and are Muslim.
