  – Paschal means anything to do with Passover
  – Last Supper
  – Jesus was the Paschal lamb

• Eucharist is then a memorial of Jesus’ sacrifice
• After the Resurrection, the disciples did not
  recognize Jesus on the road to Emmaus until
  he broke the bread at dinner
• The disciples recognized Christ in the Eucharist
  after Pentecost
