Changes in Geography
What is Project Based Learning (PBL)?
It is a hands on way of teaching students the curriculum. Since it is a hands on way
of learning it can allow the students to further understand and remember the
information. It makes the students work with others on a specific project that
applies to what they have learned in class. This type of learning builds different
skills because it involves critical thinking and communication with others. Project-
based learning is a good way to keep students interested in the material.

What are the student’s doing in Ms. Freeze’s class?

The student’s are learning about all the geographical changes that have
happened over time. They have been learning about global warming and how it
has affected the earth. The student’s have also looked at ways to try and
prevent harmful changes to the environment.

As the teacher… As the parent…
I will be meeting every other day to Your children will need a

also be there after school if they need and materials to make a

websites to get started.

As the student…
Each student should research necessary information to make a
powerpoint with their group discussing the changes in geography.
Each group will also make a model of the changes by any way they
choose. They will be able to answer: How can doing a model of the
changes of land and water from decade to decade help visualize how
the earth has changed? How can we help save the environment? How
has the earth changed from one decade to another? What are two
ways to stop global warming? What are two bodies of water that are
slowly diminishing? Why are rainforests being cut down?
