Chandra Gupta II was the emperor of the Gupta Empire from AD 375 to 415. He adopted the title 'Vikramaditya' and kept nine famous personalities at his court known as the Navaratna, including the poet Kalidasa. Chandra Gupta II married a Naga princess named Kuberanaga and his daughter Prabhavati married the Vakataka prince Rudrasena II. The Chinese Buddhist pilgrim Fa-Hien visited India during Chandra Gupta II's reign.
