This document outlines an assignment for students to create a self-branding project for a fictitious production company. It provides examples and guidelines for each stage of the process: research, creativity, and execution. In the research stage, students are given samples of company names, logos, websites, and testimonial videos. In the creativity stage, one group proposes the name "Da Potatoes" for their company and designs corresponding logo and stationery concepts. For the execution stage, they produce final versions of the company name, logo, stationery, website, and a testimonial video. The assignment aims to help students learn self-branding strategies through applying various stages of concept development.

2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

10. 2. Logos/Logotypes
a.) Tin Can
(Source: link)
The logo-type is pretty simple, a well-spaced combination of uppercase sans-serif characters
built from Avant Garde Gothic conveys a professionalism, functionality and to some degree a
neutrality needed to serve multiple sectors. Animated and as stills these deliver both a
dynamism and a sense of multiple perspectives across various collaterals that resonates well
with the theme of format which is enhanced by a monochromatic colour palette that delivers a
more abstract, experimental and creative quality alongside the conventions of the logo-type.
The visual identity’s relevance and relationship to the Tin Can name and its four-fold
proposition is not immediate but like the weight of the logo-type it is incredibly bold and
confident in its simplicity, and original in its dimensional application.
b.) Pengolio
(Source: link)

cute, the penguin can be a mascot for the production house. It is also interesting and is easily
recognized as a character or a mascot for the company.

Just a very simple logo design as the name is Universal. The design is only the earth, or world

“We strongly believe in the value of print, so as a print-based designs studio, we feel it’s
important that our stationery is a showcase of what we can do within the medium. We created a
bespoke logo that was then embossed across all of our stationery, creating a latex texture on
uncoated paper. We used a color palette set in black & white, with a hint of turquoise to
demonstrate the attention to detail we like to achieve with all of our projects.
All printing and finishing produced by Generation Press.”
