WORKING EXPERIENCE
Environmental Engineer Mar 2016 – August 2016
AKRF, New York City, NY
Performed office and field work duties for environmental consulting projects.
• Office work included report reparation, EQuIS management, GIS mapping and AutoCAD drawings. My main
responsibilities included the design of multiple sub-slab depressurization systems.
• Field work included soil, soil vapor, groundwater and air sampling. I also conducted construction and remediation
oversight.
Facility Management Intern February 2014 – July 2014
Cushman & Wakefield, Shanghai, China
Accomplished indoor environmental statement for commercial interiors and new buildings
• Collected and analyzed air quality data from the third party, calculated target results in models built-in Matlab and query
relevant regulations
Environmental Engineering Intern February 2013- February 2014
Shanghai Municipal Engineering Design Institute (Group) Co., Ltd. , China
Wastewater Treatment Facility design and Site investigation
• Designed solutions for the treatment of water intake, conventional and advanced water and membrane filtration
• Designed and consulted piping system by modeling water supply and treatment network in EPNet
SELECTED PROJECTS
Remedial Investigation and Design of New Development on 470 Manhattan Ave May - August 2016
• Designed SSDS(sub-slab depressurization system) for the new residential building. Specifically, I liaised with the
project architects to assess plans and negotiated changes related to environmental requirements. I created details for the
system drawings and collaborated with project manager to calculate the size of essential system components.
• Conducted remedial inspections on site including soil vapor, groundwater and air sampling and monitoring.
• Prepared reports including writing, proofreading paragraphs, graphical analysis and modification.
• Imported, managed and submitted EDDs of remedial investigation to NYCDEC through EQuIS.
Construction Site Oversight and Monitoring for Essex Site 1 June 2016
• Evaluated soil content (clean, hazardous waste and debris) and tracked disposal trucks.
• Completed daily field notes including progress of SSDS installation, air monitoring and decontamination.
SCA campus water sampling and disinfection April – May 2016
• Flushed and sampled drinkable water pipelines (all pipelines for pre-K and K). Analyzed them for lead.
• Monitored workers injecting chlorinated solution and flushing the whole system.
Remediation of Dense Non-Aqueous Phase Liquid (DNAPL) in Landfill 1: Air Force Plant 4 April 2015
• Investigated the geology and hydrogeology of site, identified the contaminants (59% DNAPL) and their location,
modeled potential migration pathways of contaminants from underground source to local residents
• Proposed using Electrical Resistance Heating or Monitored Natural Attenuation to remediate contaminated soil, and
using Pump and Treat method to remediate the low concentration plume in the direction of groundwater flow
