Coach for College will offer sports, academic, and life skills camps for middle school students in Vietnam in the summers of 2011 and beyond. In 2011 there will be two camp locations, growing to 12 locations by 2015. American student athletes from Atlantic Coast Conference universities will participate in 2011, expanding to include Big 10 Conference universities in 2014. The camps aim to engage and motivate at-risk Vietnamese youth through participation. The camps will have Vietnamese and American college student coaches and last three weeks with a schedule of academic classes, sports, and team building each day. Participation is intended to help Vietnamese youth pursue further education and empower American students to become leaders committed to social change.
