- Presenter: AMS NOTE: THIS IS UPDATED MISSION STATEMENT Since 1992, CoSN has been working to help technology leaders at the school district level succeed. As the country’s premier voice in education technology leadership, CoSN provides products and services to support and nurture leadership development, advocacy, coalition building and awareness of emerging technologies.

- PRESENTER: JEAN Across districts, the district technology leader may have any one of a number of titles, e.g. CTO, CIO, Director of Technology or others. CoSN often uses the title of CTO but knows district technology leaders have a range of titles and come from a variety of backgrounds, among them education, technology and business. Let’s see who we have in today’s session. [Ask participants to introduce themselves, providing their name, title, school district and including what kind of background they have come from—instruction/education, technical/IT or business. Alternately, if the group is too large or time does not allow for individual introductions, ask for a show of hands to indicate backgrounds. In nearly all groups, there will be a mixture.] [Ask how many are CoSN members and acknowledge/recognize them; also acknowledge if the group is part of a CoSN state chapter.] Whatever their title, these technology leaders are responsible for the technology that is increasingly complex, greater in number and scope and ever more integrated into the daily instructional and administrative routine of today’s school districts.
