This document summarizes Cindy Solomon's presentation on how to create a culture for product excellence. She defines product excellence differently depending on where a product is in its lifecycle. Early on, excellence means the product works as intended, while later it means the user experience and integration with other products. The document is a transcript from a product marketing webinar hosted by ProdMgmtTalk on August 22nd, 2011 with guest speaker Tim C. Johnson, a product marketing expert. The most important thing a product manager will do is develop an understanding of their market. The second most important thing they will do is form a strategy for their product, given that understanding. The third most important thing is to communicate to the rest of the team what needs to be done, to implement that strategy, to win in that market.
