Cell Types
Prokaryotic and Eukaryotic
organisms
The difference between Prokaryotic
and eukaryotic orgnanisms is said to be
the most important distinction among
groups of living things. Deriving from
the name itself, eu means “true”
while karyon means “nucleus”.
Prokaryotic Cell
 Prokaryotes are organisms whose cells lack a nucleus and
other organelles. Prokaryotes are divided into two distinct
groups, the bacteria and the archaea.
Prokaryotic Bacteria Examples:
Eukaryotic Cell
Eukaryotic Cell
 The eukaryotes constitute the domain of Eukaryota,
organisms whose cells have a nucleus. All animals,
plants, fungi, and many unicellular organisms are
eukaryotes.
Eukaryotic Cells examples:
 Human Cells:
Stem cells
Bone cells
Blood cells
Sperm cells
Female egg cell
Fat cells
Nerve cells
 Animal Cells:
skin cells
muscle cells
blood cells
fat cells
nerve cells
sex cells
stem cells
 Plant Cells:
meristematic cells
parenchyma cells
collenchyma cells
sclerenchyma cells
reproductive cells
