Wyland, a renowned marine life artist, will restore the iconic Whaling Wall mural outside the AES Redondo Beach power station on March 31st to cap off his career. In April, the Wyland Foundation will recognize one Southern California teacher per day for their efforts inspiring environmental stewardship in students, in celebration of Earth Month. Events on March 31st will include Wyland painting, environmental education activities by various organizations, and a dedication ceremony with speeches by officials and Wyland.

Wyland, the acclaimed artist of realistic marine life masterpieces, will cap his career off
with the restoration of the iconic Whaling Wall mural outside the AES Redondo Beach
power generating station on the morning of March 31st.
The Wyland Foundation will be putting on a promotional event during the whole month of
April in awareness of Earth Month by recognizing and awarding one Southern California
teacher each day that has contributed to conservation in the classroom by inspiring their
students to become better stewards of the planet.
Event Features:
8:00 a.m. – Wyland onsite for last minute painting and interviews
10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. – The Wyland Foundation will be putting on public environmental
education activities across the street hosted by: SEA Lab, Water Education Center, and
Clean Water Mobile Learning Center.
12:00 – 12:30 p.m. – Dedication and Ribbon Cutting Ceremony with speeches by select
individuals including: AES, Mayor Mike Gin, Mayor Scotto of Torrence, Toyota
Representative, with closing remarks from Wyland.
1:00 p.m. – Continue educational activities
