The auto insurance economy is currently facing a series of challenges, including workforce shortages,
inflation, supply chain issues, increasing vehicle complexity and rising consumer expectations. These
factors have led to a significant increase in repairable, total loss and casualty claim cycle times.
Recent data from CCC Intelligent Solutions (CCC) showed that the cumulative annual cycle time
for automotive claims in the U.S. – the time between when claims are open and when they are closed -
increased to more than 2 billion days in 2022, a 1 billion increase from 2021. This means that customers are
waiting longer than ever to resolve their claims, underscoring the pressing need to address operational
efficiency in the Property and Casualty (P&C) insurance economy.
CCC is tackling this challenge head-on with its cloud platform, powered by artificial intelligence (AI) and a

• CCC® Estimate – STP - The industry’s only solution to transform photos of vehicle damage into actionable, line level estimates
in seconds by applying advanced AI and CCC’s integrated network with insurer’s rules.
• CCC® Impact Dynamics – The industry's only tool to determine Delta V, or the change in velocity, from photos using AI. Impact
Dynamics is used to predict impact severity and injury potential to vehicle occupants at first notice of loss.
• CCC ONE® Estimating – IQ - Jumpstarts the estimate process at repair facilities by pre-populating estimates based on photos of
vehicle damage. The AI-guided estimates pre-populate parts line items saving repairers valuable time.
• CCC® Smart Red Flag Detection - Powered by AI, uncovers discrepancies such as multiple filings for the same damage, duplicate
VINs, odometer disparities, or garaging errors early in the claims lifecycle.

AI ADOPTION REPORT
In February 2023, CCC announced an update to its insurer AI adoption report, which for the third straight year showed significant
growth in the adoption of AI in auto claims. Highlights included:
• More than 14 million unique claims had been processed using a CCC AI solution, growing 3X since before the pandemic in 2019.
• The application of advanced computer vision AI for claims processing increased 60 percent year-over-year.
• In addition to more claims using AI, the data showed a deepening penetration of multiple different AI solutions being applied
per claim. In fact, CCC reported the number of claims using four or more of its advanced AI applications also grew 2X year-
over-year.
• The adoption of CCC Estimate – STP had grown to 15 insurers, including 7 of the top 10 carriers based on direct written
premium, representing 50% of U.S. auto claims volume.
• Today, more than 100 insurers are actively using CCC’s AI-powered applications.

INDIANA FARMERS INSURANCE & CCC ESTIMATE – STP
Indiana Farmers Insurance is the Latest Carrier to Leverage AI-Powered Estimating from CCC
• In March 2023, CCC announced that Indiana Farmers Insurance became the latest auto insurer to leverage its industry-first AI-
powered CCC Estimate – STP solution in an effort to lessen the time members spend without their vehicles.
• CCC Estimate – STP is currently used by 15 insurers, including 7 of the top 10 carriers based on direct written premium,
representing 50% of U.S. auto claims volume.
• Indiana Farmers Insurance joins a variety of other carriers, large and small, in using CCC Estimate – STP in market. Other carriers
include USAA as featured in the Wall Street Journal article “AI Helps Auto Insurers Cost Out Collisions in Seconds.”

CCC Estimate – STP employs a powerful combination of advanced AI, insurer-driven
rules, and CCC’s vast network connections to automatically initiate and populate
predictive, detailed, and actionable estimates in moments. Features include:
• Intelligent Routing: AI and insurer defined rules are applied to damage
photos to automatically validate claim information.
• Estimate Generation: Submitted photos are then analyzed by AI to produce
an estimate all-inclusive of labor hours, parts cost, etc.
• Automated Validation: Estimates are assessed by AI to ensure they meet an
insurers confidence threshold.

ROOT INSURANCE & CCC® FIRST PARTY CASUALTY
Root Insurance Extends Relationship with CCC to Digitize First-Party Casualty
• In February 2023, CCC announced that Root Insurance became the latest carrier to leverage its CCC® First-Party Casualty solution
allowing it now manage auto physical damage and first- and third-party casualty claims through a single digital workflow.
• By working with CCC, Root leverages data and technology across the life of a claim, spanning auto physical damage, first- and
third-party casualty and subrogation claims, enabling straight-through claims experiences for policyholders.
About CCC Casualty
• CCC Casualty includes both first- and third-party solutions for insurers.
• CCC’s First-Party Casualty solution applies a configurable rules engine to process
claims data quickly and segment payment-ready bills from those that require
manual review.
• CCC’s Third-Party Casualty solution applies AI and biomechanical analysis to
injury causation and bill review, increasing accuracy and reducing time, labor and
cost associated with the third-party casualty claims process.

GEICO & CCC SMART RED FLAG DETECTION
GEICO Extends Relationship with CCC To Include Smart Digital Fraud Detection
• In September 2022, CCC announced that GEICO became the first auto insurer to leverage its CCC Smart Red Flag Detection
solution with Cross Carrier Analysis to uncover claims discrepancies and duplicate filings for the same damage.
• Integrating CCC Smart Red Flag with Cross Carrier Analysis into GEICO’s claims workflow, which already runs on CCC’s digital and AI
technology, creates better visibility into suspicious activity, improves assessment accuracy and reduces fraudulent payouts. The
technology paves the way for better policyholder experiences and straight-through claims processing.
About CCC Smart Red Flag Detection
• CCC Smart Red Flag uncovers multiple filings for the same damage, duplicate VINs, odometer
disparities, or garaging errors early in the claim lifecycle.
• Using AI, damage photos are assessed, pinpointing inconsistencies and anomalies and
providing clarity to appraisers and investigative teams.
• A Smart Red Flag score dynamically adjusts based on parameters set by insurers. Stored images
and new claims photos can be viewed side-by-side and VINs and operations codes can be
compared to identify common parts across claims.

VERISK & COLLABORATION TO PREVENT INSURANCE FRAUD
CCC and Verisk Form Strategic Partnership to Bring Innovations to P&C Insurance Claims
• In May 2023, CCC and Verisk announced a strategic partnership to leverage the two providers’ market-leading technologies to
bring new innovations to P&C insurance claims.
• The first project announced through the partnership is the planned integration of anti-fraud analytics from Verisk’s claims fraud
detection solution with CCC’s claims platform. This integration will help P&C insurers fight the rising threat of fraud in auto
physical damage (APD) claims.
About Insurance Fraud
• The Coalition Against Insurance Fraud estimated the cost of
insurance fraud in America at more than $308 billion per year.
According to the FBI, fraud costs the average family between
$400 and $700 a year in premiums.
• With the increasing adoption of technology and the emergence
of new capabilities like generative AI, the threat of fraud is
expected to increase.

CCC is leveraging AI to bring intelligent experiences to every aspect of claims and mobility. Solutions include: • CCC® Estimate – STP - The industry’s only solution to transform photos of vehicle damage into actionable, line level estimates in seconds by applying advanced AI and CCC’s integrated network with insurer’s rules. • CCC® Impact Dynamics – The industry's only tool to determine Delta V, or the change in velocity, from photos using AI. Impact Dynamics is used to predict impact severity and injury potential to vehicle occupants at first notice of loss. • CCC ONE® Estimating – IQ - Jumpstarts the estimate process at repair facilities by pre-populating estimates based on photos of vehicle damage. The AI-guided estimates pre-populate parts line items saving repairers valuable time. • CCC® Smart Red Flag Detection - Powered by AI, uncovers discrepancies such as multiple filings for the same damage, duplicate VINs, odometer disparities, or garaging errors early in the claims lifecycle. • Subrogation Solutions – CCC® Safekeep seamlessly integrates AI-driven subrogation decisions directly into the claims workflow and configures to insurer rules and predictive models to accelerate outcomes. • CCC® Smart Audit - Powered by AI, applies photo analytics and insurer-specific rules while quickly evaluating estimate quality, flagging outliers, even for shop-written estimates, and intelligently routes appropriate claims to estimators for re-inspection.
  • 6. © CCC All rights reserved. 6 AI ADOPTION REPORT In February 2023, CCC announced an update to its insurer AI adoption report, which for the third straight year showed significant growth in the adoption of AI in auto claims. Highlights included: • More than 14 million unique claims had been processed using a CCC AI solution, growing 3X since before the pandemic in 2019. • The application of advanced computer vision AI for claims processing increased 60 percent year-over-year. • In addition to more claims using AI, the data showed a deepening penetration of multiple different AI solutions being applied per claim. In fact, CCC reported the number of claims using four or more of its advanced AI applications also grew 2X year- over-year. • The adoption of CCC Estimate – STP had grown to 15 insurers, including 7 of the top 10 carriers based on direct written premium, representing 50% of U.S. auto claims volume. • Today, more than 100 insurers are actively using CCC’s AI-powered applications.

  • 8. © CCC All rights reserved. 8 INDIANA FARMERS INSURANCE & CCC ESTIMATE – STP Indiana Farmers Insurance is the Latest Carrier to Leverage AI-Powered Estimating from CCC • In March 2023, CCC announced that Indiana Farmers Insurance became the latest auto insurer to leverage its industry-first AI- powered CCC Estimate – STP solution in an effort to lessen the time members spend without their vehicles. • CCC Estimate – STP is currently used by 15 insurers, including 7 of the top 10 carriers based on direct written premium, representing 50% of U.S. auto claims volume. • Indiana Farmers Insurance joins a variety of other carriers, large and small, in using CCC Estimate – STP in market. Other carriers include USAA as featured in the Wall Street Journal article “AI Helps Auto Insurers Cost Out Collisions in Seconds.” About CCC Estimate – STP CCC Estimate – STP employs a powerful combination of advanced AI, insurer-driven rules, and CCC’s vast network connections to automatically initiate and populate predictive, detailed, and actionable estimates in moments. Features include: • Intelligent Routing: AI and insurer defined rules are applied to damage photos to automatically validate claim information. • Estimate Generation: Submitted photos are then analyzed by AI to produce an estimate all-inclusive of labor hours, parts cost, etc. • Automated Validation: Estimates are assessed by AI to ensure they meet an insurers confidence threshold.
  • 9. © CCC All rights reserved. 9 ROOT INSURANCE & CCC® FIRST PARTY CASUALTY Root Insurance Extends Relationship with CCC to Digitize First-Party Casualty • In February 2023, CCC announced that Root Insurance became the latest carrier to leverage its CCC® First-Party Casualty solution allowing it now manage auto physical damage and first- and third-party casualty claims through a single digital workflow. • By working with CCC, Root leverages data and technology across the life of a claim, spanning auto physical damage, first- and third-party casualty and subrogation claims, enabling straight-through claims experiences for policyholders. About CCC Casualty • CCC Casualty includes both first- and third-party solutions for insurers. • CCC’s First-Party Casualty solution applies a configurable rules engine to process claims data quickly and segment payment-ready bills from those that require manual review. • CCC’s Third-Party Casualty solution applies AI and biomechanical analysis to injury causation and bill review, increasing accuracy and reducing time, labor and cost associated with the third-party casualty claims process.
  • 10. © CCC All rights reserved. 10 GEICO & CCC SMART RED FLAG DETECTION GEICO Extends Relationship with CCC To Include Smart Digital Fraud Detection • In September 2022, CCC announced that GEICO became the first auto insurer to leverage its CCC Smart Red Flag Detection solution with Cross Carrier Analysis to uncover claims discrepancies and duplicate filings for the same damage. • Integrating CCC Smart Red Flag with Cross Carrier Analysis into GEICO’s claims workflow, which already runs on CCC’s digital and AI technology, creates better visibility into suspicious activity, improves assessment accuracy and reduces fraudulent payouts. The technology paves the way for better policyholder experiences and straight-through claims processing. About CCC Smart Red Flag Detection • CCC Smart Red Flag uncovers multiple filings for the same damage, duplicate VINs, odometer disparities, or garaging errors early in the claim lifecycle. • Using AI, damage photos are assessed, pinpointing inconsistencies and anomalies and providing clarity to appraisers and investigative teams. • A Smart Red Flag score dynamically adjusts based on parameters set by insurers. Stored images and new claims photos can be viewed side-by-side and VINs and operations codes can be compared to identify common parts across claims.
  • 11. © CCC All rights reserved. 11 VERISK & COLLABORATION TO PREVENT INSURANCE FRAUD CCC and Verisk Form Strategic Partnership to Bring Innovations to P&C Insurance Claims • In May 2023, CCC and Verisk announced a strategic partnership to leverage the two providers’ market-leading technologies to bring new innovations to P&C insurance claims. • The first project announced through the partnership is the planned integration of anti-fraud analytics from Verisk’s claims fraud detection solution with CCC’s claims platform. This integration will help P&C insurers fight the rising threat of fraud in auto physical damage (APD) claims. About Insurance Fraud • The Coalition Against Insurance Fraud estimated the cost of insurance fraud in America at more than $308 billion per year. According to the FBI, fraud costs the average family between $400 and $700 a year in premiums. • With the increasing adoption of technology and the emergence of new capabilities like generative AI, the threat of fraud is expected to increase.
