This document discusses research conducted in Kaffrine, Senegal to explore using rural health posts as a channel to provide climate information to women farmers. Key informant interviews were conducted with health workers and organizations. Interviewees indicated that climate information could impact both agriculture and health. Health posts expressed interest in receiving forecasts to communicate to communities, such as the start of rainy season as it relates to malaria campaigns. Most preferred email/text message forecasts and would distribute information through existing health communication channels that could reach women, such as community meetings and radio. The research concludes health posts may be a feasible channel for climate information dissemination to women farmers in Kaffrine.
