WHAT IS CAD, CAM AND CAE?
• CAD [Computer Aided Design]: - Engineers use CAD to create two and three
dimensional drawings or drafting; such as those for Mechanical Industries,
Automobile, Airplane parts, Floor plans and Maps.
• CAM [Computer Aided Manufacturing]: - CAM is the manufacturing process; uses a
computer to control the manufacture of objects such as parts, which are most
often made of metal, plastic, or wood.
• CAE [Computer Aided Engineering]: - CAE is a analysis process; uses to analyze the
3D parts or assembly which is suitable according to requirements before
manufacturing the actual product.
