Comfort Seat Air Suspension with Air Compressor -

Disassembly Procedure
The air spring of the air suspension is filled with air pressure.
Prior to disassembly, release the air pressure in the air spring. Failure
to do so could result in personal injury.

1. Pull adjustment knob (1) in order to release the air from the seat.
2. Remove boot (2) .

3. Remove bolts (3) in order to remove indicator (4) .
4. Loosen the setscrew in adjustment knob (1) and remove adjustment knob (1). Remove nut
(7) and lockwasher (6). Remove plate (5) from air valve (8) .

5. Remove bolt (12) in order to disconnect cable assembly (11) .
6. Remove bolt (13) in order to remove lever (14) .
7. Remove bolts (9) in order to remove bracket (10) .

8. Remove shaft assemblies (15) .
9. Remove cable strap (16) in order to disconnect harness assemblies (18) from upper housing
assembly (17) .

10. Lift upper housing assembly (17) and push air valve (8) away from upper housing assembly
(17). Remove upper housing assembly (17) .
11. Disconnect harness assemblies (18) and hose assembly (19) from air valve (8) .

12. Raise scissor assembly (20) and install blocking in order to prevent scissor assembly (20)
from falling.
13. Remove bolts (21) in order to remove shock absorber (22) from scissor assembly (20) and
housing assembly (23) .
14. Remove bolt (25) and clamp (24) in order to remove bracket (26) and cable assembly (11)
from shock absorber (22) .
15. Remove bearings (28) from shock absorber (22) .
Note: Illustration 10 shows the location of lockwasher (27), bearings (28), washers (29), nut
(30), and locknut (31) .

16. Remove shaft (32) in order to remove toggle assembly (33) from scissor assembly (20) .
17. Remove screw (35) in order to disconnect spring assembly (34) from housing assembly
(23) .

18. Remove shaft assemblies (37) in order to remove scissor assembly (20) from housing
assembly (23) and tether straps (36) .
19. Remove shaft (38) in order to remove toggle assembly (39) from scissor assembly (20) .
Personal injury can result from being struck by parts propelled by a
released spring force.
Make sure to wear all necessary protective equipment.
Follow the recommended procedure and use all recommended tooling to
release the spring force.

20. Remove hose assembly (40) and bolt (41) in order to remove spring assembly (34) from
scissor assembly (20) .
21. Remove bolts (42) in order to remove compressor assembly (43) from scissor assembly
(20) .
22. Remove compressor assembly (43) from mount (44) .

Assembly Procedure
1. Install compressor assembly (43) to mount (44). Make sure that compressor assembly (43)
is seated firmly in mount (44) .

2. Install bolts (42) in order to attach compressor assembly (43) to scissor assembly (20) .
Improper assembly of parts that are spring loaded can cause bodily
injury.
To prevent possible injury, follow the established assembly procedure
and wear protective equipment.
3. Install bolt (41) in order to attach spring assembly (34) to scissor assembly (20). Attach hose
assembly (40) to spring assembly (34) .

4. Install shaft (38) in order to attach toggle assembly (39) to scissor assembly (20). Tighten
the two nuts for shaft (38) to a torque of 15 ± 3 N·m (11 ± 2 lb ft).
5. Install shaft assemblies (37) in order to attach tether straps (36) and scissor assembly (20) to
housing assembly (23). Tighten the nuts on shaft assemblies (37) to a torque of 20 ± 5 N·m
(15 ± 4 lb ft). Install blocking in order to prevent scissor assembly (20) from falling.

6. Install screw (35) in order to attach housing assembly (23) to spring assembly (34) .
7. Install shaft (32) in order to attach toggle assembly (33) to scissor assembly (20). Tighten
the two nuts for shaft (32) to a torque of 15 ± 3 N·m (11 ± 2 lb ft).

8. Install bearings (28) to shock absorber (22) .
9. Install bolt (25) and clamp (24) in order to attach bracket (26) and cable assembly (11) to
shock absorber (22) .

10. Install bolts (21) in order to attach shock absorber (22) to scissor assembly (20) and housing
assembly (23). Remove the blocking.
Note: Illustration 8 shows the location of lockwasher (27), bearings (28), washers (29), nut
(30), and locknut (31) .
11. Connect harness assemblies (18) and hose assembly (19) to air valve (8) .
12. Position air valve (8) to upper housing assembly (17). Position upper housing assembly (17)
to the seat.

13. Install cable strap (16) in order to secure harness assemblies (18) to upper housing assembly
(17) .
14. Install shaft assemblies (15). Tighten the nuts for shaft assemblies (15) to a torque of 20 ± 5
N·m (15 ± 4 lb ft).

15. Install bolts (9) in order to attach bracket (10) .
16. Install bolt (13) in order to attach lever (14) to bracket (10) .
17. Install bolt (12) in order to attach cable assembly (11) to lever (14) .

18. Position plate (5) to the seat. Install lockwasher (6) and nut (7) in order to secure air valve
(8) to the seat. Tighten the setscrew in adjustment knob (1) in order to secure adjustment
knob (1) to air valve (8) .
19. Install bolts (3) in order to attach indicator (4) to the seat.
