SMI: Surgical sutures of the highest quality SMI AG was established in 1987 - the first Belgian company to manufacture surgical sutures - since when it has grown rapidly. Today it is recognised as a world-wide supplier of surgical sutures. The company is situated in St. Vith in the east of Belgium, near the point where the borders of Belgium, Germany and Luxembourg meet. HIGHEST QUALITY AND SAFETY SMI has always complied with international quality standards such as EN ISO 9001 and EN ISO 13485 as well as Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) procedures.     SMI: Surgical suturesof the highest quality SMI AG was established in 1987 - the first Belgian company to manufacture surgical sutures - since when it has grown rapidly. Today it is recognised as a world-wide supplier of surgical sutures. The company is situated in St. Vith in the east of Belgium, near the point where the borders of Belgium, Germany and Luxembourg meet. HIGHEST QUALITY AND SAFETY SMI has always complied with international quality standards such as EN ISO 9001 and EN ISO 13485 as well as Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) procedures. All materials used and finished products are subjected to stringent quality control by a dedicated team headed by an industrial pharmacist. Quality and safety of surgical sutures are thus assured. WORLD-WIDE RECOGNITION SMI exports to 60 different countries all over the world, which make up approximately 80% of SMI’s turnover. This performance earned SMI the “Royal Export Award 2000“ from the Belgian Foreign Trade Board.
