Mike Being a professional who works long hours in the corporate
sector, he frequently struggles with getting rid of junk at home.
Living with his grandparents, who spend their afternoons alone, he
constantly concerned about the safety and reliability of the local junk
pickers in his area. The ones available seem either untrustworthy or
come at a steep cost.
One day, as he returned home from work, he noticed that his garage
was full with random objects and outdated furniture that needed to be
taken out right away. But the little time he had in the evenings and the lack of trustworthy nearby services put him in a difficult
situation.
In summary, as a working professional with familial responsibilities, I desire a junk removal platform like Junkle that offers a
trustworthy, affordable, and convenient solution. This platform should allow me to schedule pickups at my convenience,
guarantee the authenticity and professionalism of the drivers, and ultimately provide peace of mind for both myself and my
grandparents.

Why did I work on this?
Are you tired of the junk taking up space in your house? Have you been trying to find a simple solution to get rid of your junk?
The fast-paced lifestyles of working people in the modern period allow little
time for domestic duties, especially getting rid of collected stuff like old
furniture or cupboards. Making the time to visit a junkyard is a problem that
adds to the frustration. To make matters more severe, the neighbourhood
street junk pickers do not regularly pick up junk on a daily basis.
The lack of a suitable venue to address these issues causes the problem.
The current solutions are not flexible to user grievances and do not allow for
waste collection within designated shift times. Moreover, customers who
require prompt and affordable trash pickup solutions often feel that the
services they are offered are too costly. This adds to their general
frustration.
A dependable and responsive platform that not only takes into account the time constraints of working people but also
guarantees daily junk collection on booking, prompt services, and affordability for a more effective and user-friendly junk
removal experience is essential in light of these challenges.

When an item no longer serves a purpose, it transforms into waste. Recognizing this, Junkle actively stimulates the demand
for dry waste by establishing robust recycling supply chains. The visible litter in our surroundings diminishes when there is a
substantial demand for it, effectively motivating waste collectors to increase their collection efforts.
The central challenge at hand is to create an intuitively designed platform that possesses scalability catering to various sectors,
including small and medium-sized industries, FMCG brands, local governments, retail companies, housing and real estate firms,
facility management services, offices and tech parks, as well as apartments and communities. The objective is to develop a user-
friendly system where individuals can seamlessly schedule pickup vehicles based on the weight of the trash they need to dispose
of.
Through the app, customers can schedule, book, and live track garbage pickup, facilitating easy trash handovers for appropriate
waste segregation and recycling.
Core Problem
To create an effective value-based product strategy, all I did is asking the right set of questions. Below are some questions I
prepared and found the answer for those which helps me to build the strategy of my product.

• Have they dumped the waste successfully in the junkyard?

• If there is a service that collects your household waste at your doorsteps, will you be excited?

Making the time to visit a junkyard is a problem that adds to the frustration. To make matters more severe, the neighbourhood street junk pickers do not regularly pick up junk on a daily basis. The lack of a suitable venue to address these issues causes the problem. The current solutions are not flexible to user grievances and do not allow for waste collection within designated shift times. Moreover, customers who require prompt and affordable trash pickup solutions often feel that the services they are offered are too costly. This adds to their general frustration. A dependable and responsive platform that not only takes into account the time constraints of working people but also guarantees daily junk collection on booking, prompt services, and affordability for a more effective and user-friendly junk removal experience is essential in light of these challenges. What’s minimise user’s frustration User/Market Research I have used Double Diamond design model in this project, integrating the research and design thinking process for the Junkle app: Growth of the Junk Removal Industry: The junk removal industry has experienced significant growth in recent years, driven by factors such as increased consumer awareness of recycling and environmentally friendly practices. Consumer Demand Consumer demand for convenient and efficient junk removal services has contributed to the growth of the market. Market Trends Trends in the industry may include a focus on eco-friendly practices, technology integration for scheduling and customer service, and expanding service offerings to meet customer needs. “ ” When an item no longer serves a purpose, it transforms into waste. Recognizing this, Junkle actively stimulates the demand for dry waste by establishing robust recycling supply chains. The visible litter in our surroundings diminishes when there is a substantial demand for it, effectively motivating waste collectors to increase their collection efforts. The central challenge at hand is to create an intuitively designed platform that possesses scalability catering to various sectors, including small and medium-sized industries, FMCG brands, local governments, retail companies, housing and real estate firms, facility management services, offices and tech parks, as well as apartments and communities. The objective is to develop a user- friendly system where individuals can seamlessly schedule pickup vehicles based on the weight of the trash they need to dispose of. Through the app, customers can schedule, book, and live track garbage pickup, facilitating easy trash handovers for appropriate waste segregation and recycling. Core Problem To create an effective value-based product strategy, all I did is asking the right set of questions. Below are some questions I prepared and found the answer for those which helps me to build the strategy of my product. • Can you tell me a bit about yourself and your daily routine? • Are you a working professional or a homemaker? • Are you aware of the 3R (reuse, reduce, recycle) methodology? • How often do you find yourself needing to dispose of junk or unwanted items? • What are the main challenges you face when it comes to junk removal? • How do you currently handle junk removal or disposal? • Do you rely on local waste pickers or disposal services for regular junk removal? • Have they dumped the waste successfully in the junkyard? • Do you segregate waste based on their property? • Do you believe that the current waste management system is effective? • Is the junkyard far away from your place? • Have you used any junk removal services or apps before? If so, what was your experience? • If there is a service that collects your household waste at your doorsteps, will you be excited? • Are you comfortable using mobile apps for services like junk removal? • How important is transparency in terms of pricing and service details when using a mobile app for junk removal? • Would you prefer scheduled pickups or on-demand services for junk removal? • How do you feel about the current pricing structures for junk removal services in your area? • What factors influence your decision when choosing a junk removal service based on pricing? • Would you be more likely to use a service that recycles or disposes of junk responsibly? This made it easier for me to make decisions which were more focused on the objectives and needs of the user. Consistency and Standards Ensure that design elements, icons, and navigation patterns remain consistent throughout the app for a seamless user experience. Help and Documentation Enhance help and documentation features to address common user queries and provide assistance within the app. Help Users Recognize, Diagnose, and Recover from Errors Optimize error messages to be more user-friendly and offer actionable steps for users to correct errors. These hypothetical heuristic analyses can function as a basis for evaluating the Junkle application's usability and user experience.
