Challenges faced
Centenary Rural Development Bank Ltd started as an initiative of the Uganda National Lay
Apostolate in 1983 as a credit Trust and it began operations in 1985 with the main objective of
serving the rural poor and contributing to the overall economic development of the country.
In 1993, Centenary Rural Development Bank Ltd was registered as a full service commercial
customers. Our services can be accessed across our 62 full service branches and 154 ATMs
networked countrywide with vision to be the best provider of Financial Services, especially

Centenary Rural Development Bank were having an internal DVT aka Data Validator Tool

approves account information of a bank account holder. If there is any change in name/ac-
list. There were problems faced from the bank since the application was not complete. It will
reject details if the format was incorrectly inputted, even if the account credentials are same.
For that, a supervisor needs to manually look and has to do force pass as well as fail each and
every transactions. This has increased considerable lead-time for every process to be carried
were uploading millions of records at a time and this has been done weekly wise. This made a
very hectic task for authorities to process salaries. For force pay and fail option, there were no
multiple selections in their existing system.
I'm very happy working with SODTECH. During their work process, they were very flexible
and willing to try out various things according to our suggestions. We will make sure to
incorporate with SODTECH in our future business needs.

various process methodologies and levels and learned its best practices and function aspect. SOD-
TECH decided to venture outside its domain of application development, and acted as a guide for
the client providing consultation and best approach to roll out their process much smarter and error
free. For Centenary Rural Development Bank, using the state of art new PHP coding standards, SOD-
TECH has totally revamped Data Validator Tool by adding much smarter user interface that help to
navigate and operate bank staffs much easier and hassle free. The uploading time was considerably
reduced to less and by incorporating new coding standards; SODTECH has achieved to get the job
done within a matter of time. By reduced lead time, now processing of salary was made much faster.
With improved navigation controls and User interface design, the new and improved DVT applica-
tion has made a remarkable phase shift in day to day operation of the Centenary Rural Development
Bank.
Centenary Rural Development Bank has a consolidated view of the system with the new synchroni-
zation and integrated DVT application. The financial data from different functional verticals are
cross checked and processed within a matter of time by using state of art advanced coding stan-
dards. The whole application suite for Centenary Rural Development Bank has improved process
standardization, efficiency, and adaptability with readily available information for financial process-
ing on the fly. Centenary Rural Development Bank has been benefited both financially and reducing
uncertainty in the processes. Report generation of failed, passed and forced transaction can be
effectively categorized and now different levels of hectic readdressing can be avoided as the new
and improved application lags errors and give pinpoint accuracy in processing data. Overall the
new system has helped Centenary Rural Development Bank to build a strong base to concentrate
and plan on new avenues for time and space. In short, a system designed for the organization for
growth by infusing it with more operational agility and flexibility.
