Introduction
 Tehri Hydro Electric Corporation Ltd (THDC), is a joint
venture Company.
 THCD planned to begin Vishnugad Pipalkoti Hydro Electric
Project.
 Project is to produce 444 MW.
 According to the Indian national policy, the Company is
responsible for rehabilitation of displaced people who'll be
affected from the project.
 Company had decided to employ professional social
workers to work as an intermediary.
 THDC has paid out Rs. 67.09 million towards Resettlement
& Rehabilitation assistance. (http://www.worldbank.org)

 THDC was short of Corporate-Community
Developer. In result THDC is with a Recruitment
need of a Social Workers to be filled.
Related Facts:
 Due to the project, people who were residing
around the area of this site they’ll need to be
resettle from this area to another
 THDC required to build up a recruitment policy
to recruit a social worker. Who’ll fulfills
regulatory requirements that are associated
with the rehabilitation and society
development.
 By laws the THDC is responsible for their R&R
Management Direction
 THDC establish a Recruitment procedure to induct
social workers by means of external recruitment.
With an extensive search and HR department of the
company together make this happen.
 Initiating with a job analysis for this position
resulting into job description & specification.
 SWs may be Experienced with low skilled.
 Conducting the tests including:
I. Personality and interest,
II. Management Games,
III. Situational Judgment Tests,
IV. Negotiator, Networker, Extraversion
V. Check for Reference

Social Worker look likes?
Answer -1:
 Social Worker is responsible for providing social services to
identified groups, individuals and families within applicable
legislation in order to protect and improve their social well-
being and functioning of company and individuals.
 The candidate must be able to respond or assist in
emergency situations and have very good interpersonal,
mediation, negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
 He/she must have well developed organizational verbal
and written communications skills, a good listener,
interviewing and analytical skills and good computer
skills.
Answer -1:
 The candidate need to have knowledge of social work theories,
practices and procedures.
 The candidate entails knowledge and understanding of all
relevant rules, documentations, legislation and policies.
 The candidate requires knowledge of case management, case
conferencing , investigation and intervention theories and
practices.

person holding this position ?
Answer - 2:
 Social Worker must have a graduate /master's or doctorate
degree in: Social Sciences/Public Administration/ Legal Studies
and Psychology.
 He/she must be not mind to work in less developed areas.
 He/she need to deal with communities/individual/ groups who
are not educated.
 Does not mind working in rural hospitals and clinics where the
social work may lead them.

 Must have a deep compassion for the poor and empathy for less
privilege in society.
 Must have excellent physical health and mental alertness.
 Minimum 3 years of relevant Experience.

Conclusion
 A Social Worker must have continued Training and development
of the Staff.
 They need to Draw a code of ethics.
 SW must be Confident in the company leadership, and to
indicate inspiration to some people.
 They must be first tested for their personality, attitudes,
strengths, and motivational skills.
 SW must be given with a PEOPLE HELP Goal. Specific goal give
direction of the task.
 SW must be the decision maker to make decisions on the spot.
 Be the best co-operator among the company and the
community.
