Carlos Noriega is a Peruvian astronaut born in 1959 in Lima, Peru. He was selected by NASA in 1994 and participated in two space missions - Atlantis in 1997 and Endeavour in 2000. During his first mission, he brought some Peruvian souvenirs including purple corn, the Peruvian flag, and a gold Tumi in honor of the Chimu culture. Noriega married an American woman named Wendy Thatcher and they have five children together. In 2009, the mayor of Callao City invited Noriega to the opening of a new space-themed park in Lima to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the first moon landing.

2. BIOGRAPHY CARLOS ISMAEL NORIEGA JIMÉNEZ Carlos Noriega is a peruvian astronaut , he was born in GUILLERMO ALMENARA hospital in Lima – Peru on October 8th,1959. His parents’ names are Rodolfo Noriega and Nora Jiménez. Carlos Noriega lived in Santa Beatriz neighborhood in Lima – Peru. When Carlos was five years old , his parents decided to live in United States. Now , they are living in USA. His parents live in Arizona. Carlos and his family live in California

In1997, when Carlos traveled to the space ,Shayna was fifteen years old, Ryan was thirteen years old and the triplet children : Robert, Rodolfo and Elizabeth were four years old.
