My trip to Cancun Mexico Feb, 2011
Day one We arrived at 10: am and took a shuttle from the airport to the bus station and then took a bus to our hotel. The airport and bus system help provide jobs and brings American money into Mexico which can help better the lives of the locals.
Day one continues We arrived at our room at the Oasis Beach and Spa Resort Huge mega resorts provide jobs and training for locals. They can learn cooking, and service skills that can get them better jobs in the future.
Our first evening in Cancun We went out to eat at Senor Frogs, I ate chicken taco’s and fried ice cream for dessert. My family then took a walk on the beach outside of our hotel. By having many tourist restaurants the locals are provided with many job opportunities. The locals can learn skills and earn enough money to get an education.
Day Two We had a relaxing day at the beach, we then swam in the hotel pool all evening. The hotels provide thousands of jobs for the local Mexican people which can allow them to have more money for their families which gives them the chance to better themselves.
Day Three We got up early and took a tour bus to the Yucatan Peninsula, and toured the ancient Mexican ruins We got to climb the steps of the ancient pyramids. These ruins tell the story of the Mayan culture, which explains the history of Mexico and creates a positive look at the Mexican people. One can learn about the ancient religious beliefs of these people.
Day Four We went snorkeling and I saw many exotic fish. In the afternoon we went shopping at a local market. Snorkeling is a small investment for the rental company with huge cash returns on the rental of the equipment. Buy shopping at local markets the poorer citizens of Cancun can have an income for a small investment in their crafts. It also provides jobs for those not employed by the big resorts.
Day five was filled with relaxing at the beach, boating, and dinner in a beach cabana. Many locals are employed to service the beach cabana’s and locals can buy a boat and make money on each rental which helps the Mexican economy.
Day six was spent at a friends wedding and then dinner at a local restaurant. The wedding helps with tourism, many people need rooms and spend vacation money, the restaurant keeps many locals employed and earning American money as tips.
Day seven we visited a friends hotel and swam at their pool and went jet skiing with them. We bought souvenirs before flying home. All of these activities bring American money into the Mexican economy
