Cameron died from lymphoma. He was at high risk for lymphoma due to genetic mutations passed down from his parents. He also worked spraying pesticides, which can lead to lymphoma. When Cameron noticed a growth under his arm, he waited for it to go away instead of making a doctor's appointment. Seeing a doctor could have led to an earlier diagnosis and treatment of his lymphoma. If Cameron had gotten medical care for the lump, he may have survived and been able to play professional basketball.
