2. L'Associazione Culturale "Santu Larettu" nasce nel 1974 come Gruppo di ballo e di canto a Tenore;
Il Gruppo, già dalla sua origine, cura gli aspetti più autentici della tradizione, facendo sì che le musiche, i
balli, i canti, i costumi ed usi tradizionali della cultura del paese, vivano quale patrimonio quotidiano nella co-
munità. In tutti questi anni l'Associazione ha lavorato con continuità andando alle radici del nostro patrimo-
nio etno-musicale ed animando in ogni occasione i momenti della vita sociale del paese.
Ciò è avvenuto con la istituzione del Laboratorio di ballo per bambini ed adulti sulle musiche originali sila-
nesi; da esso traggono vita il Minifolk , il gruppo tutto femminile de “sas Pitzinnas Silanesas” ed il Gruppo
Folk misto degli adulti; tutti, talvolta insieme grandi e piccoli, animano le feste e sagre paesane con i tre diver-
si balli silanesi (nelle musiche del compianto Tju Nanneddu Mastinu il leggendario suonatore cieco silanese,
oggi noto in tutta la Sardegna); Ballu Tundu, Dansa, e Dillu vengono sempre eseguiti sulle musiche originali
di Silanus e senza alcuna coreografia aggiuntiva rispetto a quelle tipiche della tradizione (su passu, su brincu,
s'intrada, su caragolu);
I componenti dell'Associazione, indossano i vari e diversificati costumi (maschile e femminile) nelle diverse
fogge conosciute e delle varie epoche storiche.
