Alexandria Lighthouse
Sometimes called Pharos of
Alexandria after the island named
Pharos of the city Alexandria
founded by the great Alexander. It
was built by Ptolemaic Kingdom
between 280 and 247 BC. It was one
of the tallest man-made structures
and was regarded one of the seven
wonders of the ancient world. It
worked as saviour of ship by
showing them way to cost and
helped from collision. It was
damaged by earthquake and now
under the sea.

The great pyramid of Giza
Also known as the pyramid of
Khufu or pyramid of Cheops is the
oldest and largest of the three
pyramids in the Giza Necropolis
what is now El Giza, Egypt is the
oldest of the seven wonders of the
Ancient world and the only one
remain intact. Egyptologist believe
that the pyramid was built as a
tomb over a 10 to 20 period
concluding 2560BC. The pyramid
was built as a tomb for Fourth
Dynasty Egyptian Pharaoh Khufu.
Khufu’s vizier, Hemon or Hemiunu,
is believed to be the architect of
the great pyramid.

Chichen Itza
It means “at the mouth of the well
of the Itza” was a large Pre-
Columbian city built by the Maya
people of the terminal classic. The
archaeological site is located in the
municipality of Tinum, in the
Mexican state of Yucatan. It is now
one of the modern seven wonders.
The evidence of this place was first
found in the book of Chilam Balam.

Machu Picchu
Machu Picchu means old peak. Is a 15th-
century Inca site located 2,430 meters It
is located in the Cusco Region,
Urubamba Province, Machupicchu
District in Peru. Most archeologist
believe that Machu Picchu was built as
an estate for the Inca emperor
Pachacuti(1438-1472) . Often mistakenly
referred to as the “Lost City of the Incas”,
it is the most familiar icon of Inca
civilization. Machu Picchu was declared a
Peruvian Historical Sanctuary in 1981
and a UNESCO World Heritage Site in
1983. In 2007, Machu Picchu was voted
one of the New Seven Wonders of the
world in a worldwide Internet poll.

The Statue of Liberty
(Liberty Enlightening the World; French:
La Liberté éclairant le monde) is a
colossal neoclassical sculpture on Liberty
Island in the middle of New York City.
The statue designed by Frederic Auguste
Bartholdi, a French sculpture and
dedicated on October 28, 1886, was a
gift to the united states from the people
of French. The statue is of robed female
figure representing Libertas, the roman
goddess of freedom, who bears a torch
and a tabula ansata ( a tablet evoking the
law) upon which is inscribed the date of
the American Declaration of
Independence July 4 1776. A broken
chain lies at her feet. The statue is an
icon of freedom and of the United
States: a welcoming signal to immigrants
arriving from abroad.

Christ the Redeemer
Is an Art Deco statue of Jesus Christ in
Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, created by French
sculptor Paul Landowski and built by
the engineer Heitor da Silva Costa Brazil
in collaboration with the French
engineer Albert Caquot. It is 30 meters
tall, not including its 8-metre pedestal
and its arms stretch 28 meters wide.
The idea of building a large statue atop
Corcovado was first suggested in the
mid 1850s when Vincentian priest,
Pedro Maria Boss, suggested placing a
Christian monument to honor Princess
Isabel, princess regent of Brazil.
Although the project was never
approved. In 1889 the country became
a republic and the idea was dismissed.
The second proposal for a landmark
statue on the mountain was made in
1920, by the Catholic Circle of Rio. It
was sculpted by Polish-French sculptor
Paul Landowski. The face of the statue
was created by Gheorghe Leonida.

Stonehenge is a prehistoric monument located in
Wiltshire, England. One of the most famous sites in the
world. Stonehenge is the remains of a ring of standing
stones set within earthworks. Archaeologist believe it
was built anywhere from 3000 BC to 2000 BC.
Radiocarbon dating in 2008 suggested that the first
stones were raised between 2400 and 2200 BC. The site
and the surroundings were added to the UNESCO’s list
of World Heritage Sites in 1986 in.
