CALCAST is a high-performance technical ceramic made from calcium silicate that is used in non-ferrous metal casting and high-temperature industrial applications. It has densities ranging from 53 to 69 lb/ft3, and properties including high strength, dimensional stability, thermal shock resistance, and insulation. CALCAST is non-wetting, machinable, and can be used continuously up to 1832°F. It is commonly used in applications like metal furnace linings, die casting units, and ingot casting where its properties help control metal flow and improve thermal balance.
