Introduction
 “Broadband refers to telecommunication in
which a wide range of frequencies is available to
transmit information”(WAN Technologies 2)
 Broadband is one of the easiest ways to access
the internet. It is used in every household.
 It is vital to have broadband if you have a small
business.

 The aim of this research is to find out which

broadband service suits my small business.
I am looking at various broadband companies
and comparing prices.

Medium of communication
 DSL(Digital Subscriber Line) This medium isn't very

popular. It is transmitted through your phone line.
 Cable- If you have cable you need to obtain a
modem and you are charged for the TV and
broadband connections.
 Satellite- This medium would be ideal for people
living outside the city. It is tricky to install and costly.
 Wireless-This is the most common medium. The
speed is fast and you don’t require a phone line.

Costs for SOHO/ Mobile
Business
For a small office- home office I would choose
the Vodafone package.
Vodafone- 4G- USB stick
It has high speed and has 42Mb. €29.99
monthly. This would be very useful if you’re
travelling around with work.
Option that suits my business
 The option that suits my small business the

best is the UPC Basis collection which is
€30.00 per month.
 Although they have a bad reputation and are

often difficult to contact the package is
reasonably cheap and very fast.
 Vodafone 4- G – USB stick is my second
choice priced at €29.99 per month. If I had to
travel for work I would pick this option.
