2. Task 1: The jouney 1. What were the seats like? Depending how you look at, the seats were a bit uncomfortable 2. What makes them unusual? The thing that makes them unusual is that they are made of leather. 3. What were the wagons made of? The wagons were made of wood. 4. How many people can fit in a wagon? In a wagon can fit approximately 52 people. 5. How many tunnels did we go through? We went through 14 tunnels. 6. What were the names of the villages where the train stopped? The train stopped at Son Sardina, Bunyola and finally Sóller. 7. Was the train noisy? The train was a little bit noisy. 8. What was the countryside like? There were a lot of trees and mountains. 9.Were the almond trees in bloom? Yes, we think there were almond trees in bloom. 10. How far is Sóller from Palma? 3. Task 2: The train station. · What did you see at the station? -At the train station we saw ironwork and there were old lamps. ·Was there an exhibition at the station? -Yes, there was an exhibition. In this photo you can see the train station.

4. Task 3: The Botanic Garden · What did the guide teach you? -She taught us about plants. · Plant: Cirerer de Betlem. It hasn't got leaves, but the plant has punches seatposts and finally down of some seatposts there is the red fruit. · Did you learn about any endangered species? -Yes, we learnt about some endangered species. · What did you do? -We learnt about plants and we did some exercises. · What are the main functions of a botanic garden? -The main functions of a botanic garden is save the endangered species of plants. 5. Task 4: A plant or tree of the Balearic islands We chose the "Cirerer de Betlem" . Its scientific name is Rucus aculeatus. This plant is distributed in Mallorca, Menorca, Eivissa, Formentera and Cabrera. Its family name is Liliaceae .

6. Task 5: The Town: fact file. · What is the origin of the name? The origin of the name "Sóller" is arabic. · What is the landscape around Sòller? The landscape around Sóller is very quiet and calm. · Is Sóller easily accessible from Palma? Why? Why not? Yes, Sóller is easily accessible from Palma because you can go to Sóller by train or by car. · Has the situation changed in recent years? When and why? Yes, the situation has changed because there is a tunnel.There is better comunication. · What was the situation like 100 years ago? Hundred years ago there were a lot of immigrates · Has the situation of Soller any effect on its economy? 7. Task 6:The cemetery. 1. What is the name of the cemetery of Soller? The name of the cemetery of Sóller is Son Sang. 2. What century is the cemetery from? The cemetery is from the 19th century. 3. Which part of the village is the cemetery situated in? The cemetery is situated at the way up to the mountains. 4. Why were some of you a bit tired when we got there? We were a bit tired because there was a hill. 5. What is the name of the trees that surround it? The name of the trees that surround it is cypresses. 6. Why did I include some French verses? You included some French verses because there were a lot of French people buried there. 7. Who was Josep Llimona? Josep Llimona was a person who did an important sculpture. 9. Had you ever been in a cemetery before? Yes, we had been in a cemetery before Son Sang. In this photo you can see the front door of the cemetery.

8. Task 7: Modernism. ·What do these buildings have in common? -These buildings have in common that all have undulating facades,and they are from the 20th century. In this photo you can see the Bank of Sóller .

9. Task 8: The building that gives name to your group. In this photo you can see the front of Can Prunera's house. Can Prunera is one of the emblematic building of Sòller. It is in "Sa Lluna" street. It was built between the 1909 and 1911 years. It was ordered to be built by Joan Magraner Prunera. It has three flats and it is made of stone. The door of the house is made of wood. It has two balcony windows with a banister that is made of iron.

10. Task 9: The shops. In this photo you can see the Sunday's market. · What kind of shops did you find? We found stores of clothes, appliances, shoes and an art gallery · Were they grouped in a particular area? Yes, they were in "Sa Lluna" street. · Are the shops different from the ones in Palma? Yes, they are different from the ones of Palma. · Were the shops busy? No, they weren't busy because they were in sales.
