media (as a church) at some
level and that it must be part
of an overall strategy to
multiply the gospel.
BUILDING A VOST
Virtual Operations Support Team
A VOST is a structured group of volunteers, who’s
location is irrelevant, who have been organized to
assist in providing virtual social media support, under
direction, for multiplying the gospel.
1. Away from the physical church
2. In several geographical locations
3. Give you an invisible staff that can accomplish a
huge amount of Social Media work
4. Dedicated heart, eyes and ears
This is a new way as we move into Social
Media for the church and the gospel.
Social media are media for social
interaction, using highly accessible and
scalable publishing techniques.
Social media use web-based
technologies to turn communication into
interactive dialogue.
People interact about things with each other
and share interesting subjects of common
interest via the internet
