members.
Enhancement in problem solving, innovation and productivity knowledge
among the students leads to healthy socio-economic growth and global

3. Role of Question Paper Pattern in Teaching-Learning Process
 Examination(CIE/SEE) is the only and important way to certify and
classify a large number of students.
 Question paper pattern plays a significant role in teaching-learning
process in polytechnics.

7. GUIDELINES FOR C20 ASSESSMENT FRAMEWORK CURRICULUM
 All questions should align with Course Outcome and Program Outcome.
 The Question paper pattern is same for both CIE and SEE covering for both
Theory and Practical and integrated mode.
 All questions should have relevancy in real world application.
 Questions should be framed using simple words and sentences with clarity.
 Question paper should be bilingual i.e., English and Kannada. But English
version will be the primary reference and prevails.
 Sufficient time should be allotted to completely understand and write answer
for all legitimate questions.
 One question should not test more than one concept unless it is application
level.
 Assessment/Marking should focus on conceptual understanding/application
and not on the length of the concept description.
 L1 to L4 questions shall have two options at same cognitive level for students to
select the response of their choice.
